So sad Arlington, VA is not in the delivery zone. It would be a nice option to try.

Tinker Bell .

I’m guessing because Prince George & Montgomery CO’s boarders DC and there may be many residents living there it was categorized under DC…although it does seem more appropriate for either Baltimore or Montgomery Co. No biggie…another groupon awaits tomorrow…it’s the anticipation for the next one that is exciting! Until tomorrow’s Groupon everyone!

George R.

Because it is a delivery service and they deliver to DC. It is marketing and business. Geesh.

Susan M.

If I buy two can I have 10 meals delivered for the week or do I need to use separately, two different weeks?

kora p.
Merchant

Good Morning Everyone,

This is Kora of Immaculate Cuisine and I will be happy to answer the questions posted.

The deal is in the DC, Montgomery area because we do provide service to those areas regularly for catering and other events. Wes started out in those areas and will expand to VA at a later date. If you are from VA and would like to pick up from a designated site in DC on one of our delivery days we would be more than happy to arrange that. If there is anyone from the Baltimore area that would like to purchase this great deal you can pick up from our kitchen location.

If you buy 2 meal plans and would like them delivered the same week that is no problem, but you will have 10 meals from that weeks menu. So if you bought 2 of them you may want to order on 2 different weeks since the menu changes week to week.

Emily P.

How many people does each meal serve?

kora p.
Merchant

Hi Emily, they are portioned for one person.

Laura B.

What time do the meals get delivered? (Because it might work for me if I could get them before I leave work.) Do you cover all of DC? Thanks!

kora p.
Merchant

Hi Laura,
We do cover all of DC depending on the time you go to work we may be able to work that out, but if you go before the time we start delivery on the designated delivery day we can deliver to you after work.

Laura D.

what’s the delivery day for DC (CT ave)?
Can 2 meals out of the 5 be made vegetarian instead of meat-based?

Kathleen R.

I agree with Sonja. We need to get Arlington VA a delivery!

william p.

I’m interested in this deal for my parents who are elderly and can’t cook for themselves any longer. If I purchased 2 for them would my sister also be allowed to purchase 2 and give it to them?

Lauri N.

Is there nutrition information available for the meals? (calories, fat, fiber, etc.)

kora p.
Merchant

@Laura-there are no substitutions for the weekly menus
@William-Yes, the limit is two per household but 2 can also be purchased as gifts so that if perfectly ok
@Laura-No there isn’t any nutrition information for the meals.

Suzanne S.

Hi! I was just checking to see if you deliver to the Annapolis area?

Thanks!
Suzanne (5 min from downtown Annapolis)

Mrigank B.

$9 a mean ( after the groupon discount) – Without the groupon would have been $18. pricey.

Hope everything is organic and fresh produce. But even if it were – how can a customer decide on it or find out about the meals without the company providing nutritional information about the meals.

Jeff T.

Hi there, so in order for a couple to have a nice dinner in the Rockville area, we’d need to burn up two meals – one a piece and you could deliver them in the evening after work? Is that correct?

So five meals x 2 people would be 10 meals or $90. And do you deliver in the evenings, say around 6:30-8pmish?

Joanne W.
The website says you need to order the Wednesday before the week of delivery. I like the menu for next week best, would I be able to order it that soon?

Also, I live in Germantown and don’t get home from work until after 6:15 PM, would that be a problem for delivery?

Lori H.

It says the containers are microwavable. We don’t have a microwave. Are there instructions for reheating in an oven? Due with my first baby in December so this looks appealing . . .

Jeffrey Y.

The website mentions a one-time fee. Does this apply to the Groupon deal? Or Is it waived for Groupon members?

Also does someone need to be present for delivery? Is delivery gratuity included in the price? Is gratuity expected?

Katrin W.

It says this plan can be tailored for vegetarian or vegan diets, yet the meal plan only lists meat-based meals. What would I need to do to get the Groupon deal but get on the vegetarian meal plan?

kora p.
Merchant

For delivery hours and day please review the menu and the Deal FAQ for that information. Depending on how many deliveries we have on that day we can put someone down for a late delivery.

Because this a special rate for the Groupon deal in DC we will not deliver at this time to the outside area that are listed. If you are in the Montgomery County and DC areas we will be more than happy to deliver to you.

If you would like to purchase the meals but want them delivered outside of these areas we can but for a delivery fee.

Someone does need to be present for delivery we will not leave meals at a home when no one is there. If you miss your delivery you will then need to pick it up at our Baltimore location the following day.

Lisa

Very interested but would like to know what the vegan meal plan will be.

Lucy C.

Is it possible to see the vegan and vegetarian options as well? It’s hard to know if this is something I would enjoy without seeing the vegan and vegetarian menu. Also, why isn’t there nutritional information available?

Mrigank B.

“Someone does need to be present for delivery we will not leave meals at a home when no one is there. If you miss your delivery you will then need to pick it up at our Baltimore location the following day.”

Go all the way to Baltimore for lunch????

Ian F.

I live in an apartment building — are you able to leave the meals with the person at the front desk?

Also, it says that the Groupon is good until December but the Groupon Menu just goes through August — will another meny be available for Groupon users after that if we haven’t used ours yet?

Jeff T.

I’m not sure we are getting an anwer here and directing us to the FAQ seems wholly unhelpful. What FAQ? There’s the fine print but it doesn’t answer our questions specifically enough, hence why we are given this forum. Why not just answer the question here rather than pointing us to an unknown location (deal FAQ – where is that? on your site).
Summary:

Will you deliver at 6:30-7pm in Rockville/Germantown?
Is a gratuity expected?
Vegetarian options?
Nutritional information – at least some details?

Anything specific to those issues would be most appreciated.

kora p.

All of the vegan and vegetarian meals will be the same as the weekly menu but with substitutions for the meat portion of the menu. For those vegetarians who do eat fish or chicken then we can substitute any beef with those as well.

Lisa

Well that just made my decision for me. If this company doesn’t even know that vegetarians DO NOT eat fish and/or chicken, I’m not trusting them to prepare a vegan meal for me.

Mrigank B.

Vegetarians eating fish or chicken?

Do you guys ( Immc. meals) know what goes into a Veggie Meal?

“For those vegetarians who do eat fish or chicken then we can substitute any beef with those as well.”

Jennifer M.

How many does this feed again?

Mrigank B.

GROUPON can do much better than this.

Karla K.

Great idea—I have participated in this type of service years ago. Not showing/listing vegan options on the site, or available after multiple questions about it here makes me think they’re an afterthought. Vegan food is amazing—if you’re doing it right, you should be ready to boast about it. Glad you thought to include them, and I think some specifics will go a long way to getting us to sign up. Do you use Gardein? Daiya? Follow Your Heart?

Lisa

Karla, the fact that we were merely told “All of the vegan and vegetarian meals will be the same as the weekly menu but with substitutions for the meat portion of the menu” and provided no clue as to what those “substitutions” would be, and no indication that they understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan, PLUS the fact they clearly don’t know the very basic definition of vegetarian, I’m seriously doubting they’ve “advanced” to Gardein or Daiya. :)

Mrigank B.

Have been on GROUPON for a while and enjoyed most of their deals. But this deal kinda disappoints me ( not that I expect myself to buy everyday). But – they ( IMMC. meals) seem to be so stuck up when giving out information about their product.

The website does not list any calorific information – does not mention what they use in their meals –
MEALS are expensive – comes to about $9 a meal – that too after GROUPON discount ( How about $18 a mean when you expire these coupons) – am not sure about y’all but that’s one pricey meal out of a plastic tray — which needs to be microwaved.

What is so great about these meals that 200 people bought it? Am curious – I really am.

Jessica A.

I’m really intersted in this, but a little weary if you’re not giving out nutritional information, as a lot of us need to know what’s in a meal. Do you have any sort of ingredients list for those with allergies? How are these packaged? In a cooler, a box? How long do they keep?

Jeffrey Y.

@Lisa: I have heard of “pescatarians”, vegetarians who occasionally eat fish. There are also “semi-vegetarians”, people who avoid red meat but still eat fish or chicken. But even so Cora’s statements are a little confusing to say the least.

I’m still waiting on an answer to Immaculate Cuisine’s sign-up fee and delivery gratuity.

Jessica A.

Also a little surprised they won’t substitute seafood for something else, especially if you’re allergic to it – most places are pretty good about that. I’m thinking this is a failed deal for me. Too bad – it would be great to get these at work for days when i’m busy, since lunch costs $10/day anyway!

kora p.
Merchant

The initial sign up fee is waved for the Groupon Deal and gratuity is completely up to the client.

Mrigank B.

Well KORA talked about Vegans and Vegetarians – she never mentioned anything about pescatarians.

Was hoping they would keep an eye on this forum and answer the Qs promptly but don’t think they are ready to provide any answers. Maybe they don’t have any.

Ian F.

Hey Kora — I want to do this but would like to know if you will leave meals with the front desk person in an apartment building — and if we will get to use the Groupon beyond July with future menus if we have not used it by that point.

Thanks!

Nancy H.

This Deal should not be listed in the DC Category, but in the Maryland – almost all of the DC deals include Arlington and Alexandria, so this is really a disappointment – I would have bought it in a minute!

Kathleen W.

If my three siblings each buy 2 (for our parents) can they be delivered to the same address but different weeks?

Eleanor K.

I’m interested in the deal, but I’m allergic to all fish. Will you substitute some other meat, or am I stuck with the vegetarian option for fish days? Can someone order a mix of vegetarian and non-veg meals, or do customers have to have the same options for the whole week?

Chris J.

Hi Mrigank B.

Thanks for your feedback.

We are working very hard to feature only the best businesses. Businesses that will appeal to a broad audience and excite our great customers.

We do review customers suggestions on a weekly basis, so please take a minute to tell us what you think in more detail and what you’d like to see more of: www.groupon.com/pages/suggestions.

Best,

@Jessica we will make substitutions for food allergies, we just will not make a separate weekly menu for that reason

@Ian yes we can leave the meals with your front desk person, we just recommend them refrigerating them once they are received

@Nancy we can set up a drop off location in the DC area for you to receive your meals if you would like

FOR ALL THE VEG OPTIONS: THERE ARE VEGETARIANS WHO DO EAT ONLY FISH AND WE CAN SUBSTITUTE YOUR CHICKEN AND BEEF OPTIONS

FOR ALL VEGETARIANS WHO DO NOT EAT MEAT AT ALL WE WILL SUBSTITUTE THE MEAT OPTIONS APPROPRIATELY
BUT IT WILL STILL BE THE SAME WEEKLY MENU

FOR ALL VEGANS WE WILL SUBSTITUTE ACCORDINGLY

Thank You

Elizabeth M.

Lisa – if you reread Kora’s answer, she said “for THOSE vegetarians who eat fish…” Some people who call themselves vegetarians do eat fish – Kora wasn’t saying that all vegetarians do. Granted she could give more information on what the meat-free options are but I don’t think it’s fair to assume she’s ignorant about the distinction between vegetarian and vegan.

$9 per meal doesn’t seem pricey to me – particularly for people who don’t cook. You’d be hard pressed to find a restaurant option for that price and this is in line with other meal delivery services out there. If they delivered in Fairfax, I’d definitely give it a try.

Lisa

Immaculate Cuisine, you might want to consult a dictionary regarding the very basic definitions of vegetarian and vegan. One can argue the ethics/validity/rationale of vegetarianism or veganism; but the definitions are not up to debate. It makes you look particularly unprofessional to do so (and with potential clients), especially when you are technically incorrect. As a CATERING company? And with the all caps? Classy.

In case you missed it in culinary school, vegetarians do not eat any flesh (and yes, that includes sea animals), though they may consume eggs and/or dairy. Vegans do not eat or use animal products of any kind. Therefore, telling vegans you will “substitute accordingly” does not tell us what ingredients will be used, and your lack of technical knowledge and unwillingness to provide information does nothing to instill confidence or trust in your company.

kora p.

@Elizabeth-Thank You

@Kathleen-yes that is fine

@Eleanor-No you are stuck, we will be more than happy to replace that item due to an allergy

WE WILL TRY TO ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU ALL MAY HAVE ABOUT THE MEAL PROGRAM AS QUICKLY AS WE CAN.

SORRY WE DO NOT HAVE CALORIES, AND NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE MEALS. THESE MEALS ARE HEALTHY IN THE SENSE THAT THEY ARE PREPARED FRESH, FROM SCRATCH, NOT ADDITIVES OR PRESERVATIVES. THESE MEALS ARE MEANT AS AN INTRODUCTION TO IMMACULATE CUISINE AND WHAT WE OFFER AND FOR THOSE BUSY PERSONS WHO JUST DON’T HAVE TIME TO COOK BUT WOULD LIKE A HOME COOKED MEAL, OR SIMPLY LIVE A BUSY LIFESTYLE AND NEED A QUICK BITE TO EAT.

Laura B.

Kora, are all the meals delivered at one time? Or one per day? Thanks for offering this deal! —Laura

Chris J.

Hi Laura B,

Thanks for your interest in todays deal. All the meals are delivered at one time. They come prepackaged and are ready to be refrigerated or frozen and can be easily warmed in the safe microwavable containers.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Chris at Groupon

Mrigank B.

DANG!!!!!! Someone just went all out CAPS.

TGIF

David A.

lol Mrigank, I’m guessing Cora is elderly and has vision problems. I’ve heard from a few old folks that caps are for some reason easier to read when you start losing your sight :/

Mrigank B.

@Kora – All CAPS means shouting at the other person ( internet language)

@Elizabeth “but I don’t think it’s fair to assume she’s ignorant about the distinction between vegetarian and vegan.”
Well Immc. Cuisine did not really instill much confidence in that fact that they knew anything about Vegan / Veggie.

A nutrition chart might help or even the list of ingredients going into the food. Am sure other delivery services ( you know of) list those items accordingly.

Linda B.

@Kora. Feisty group. Good luck to you. Stay calm. Your caps helped your answers stand out. Some of the lower case comments seemed to be shouting. Go figure.

Chris J.

Hi Mrigank B

Once again, I really appreciate your feedback. Every deal is not going to appeal to every customer. Today’s deal is obviously not for you but the great thing about Groupon is that there is a new offer everyday. We really appreciate your continued support.

Best,
Chris at Groupon

Julie C.

I would like to understand the price better w/ the 50% discount… The website shows immaculate meal plans available (without the groupon) at $90/5 days but the descriptions says an offering is “Portion Plans include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 2 snacks”. How much is the regular price for “Portion Plan” vs. “Complete Dinner Size Portion”? I may prefer the portion plan if breakfast/lunch and snacks are include as well. I assume these portions are significantly smaller than the full dinner meal…

Heather P.

In my observations, a significant portion of us Groupies are veg’n. Veg’n establishments, when they’re offered, routinely outsell conventional restaurants by 2, 3, 4-fold.

Not expounding on what “substitute appropriately” and “substitute accordingly” means when repeatedly asked to do so leaves us, a considerable Groupon demographic (and a considerable potential customer base for you), feeling disregarded.

If I may reiterate the suggestions of previous posters… utilizing Gardein (http://www.gardein.com/products.php?t=frozen) and Daiya (http://www.daiyafoods.com/) as substitutes for meat and dairy would be very well received I believe. Gardein vegan meats taste better than the most-premium grades of animal meat — w/ all the protein and none of the saturated fats.

Mrigank B.

@Julie – Now if $9 was to include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 2 snacks. That’s a deal — that’s a GROUPON deal. What say?

That would be a PROPER INTRODUCTION to the IMMACULATE CUISINE like KORA mentioned.

@Linda B – You sit next to KORA, don’t you?

@Chris – I try my best.

Kimberly P.

Hey Mrigank – wow, relax buddy! Stop being such a hater! This deal clearly isnt for you – so move on with your life… There will be a new one tomorrow!

I didnt buy it either but you dont see me complaining.

Stephanie L.

I do think that some people are being unnecessarily harsh, particularly when complaining about the price or the delivery location. If it doesn’t work for you, then don’t order.

Having said that, as a vegetarian, I agree that knowing what type of substitutes are used would be good. I do understand it might be difficult to tell us everything that is being used, because it will vary based on the meals that week. But is there at least a way we could learn about what the substitutes are for a particular week? Would we be able to e-mail before ordering and ask for the specific substitutions for those meals?

(Also, purely semantics, but there really aren’t vegetarians who eat fish. There are people who CALL themselves vegetarians but eat fish, but they aren’t real vegetarians, so to make a statement that some vegetarians eat fish really isn’t correct.)

Mrigank B.

@Kimberly P – I totally agree – this one’s not from me. But just because it’s not for me does not mean that we don’t discuss the deal. I seen a lot of deals here on GROUPON – and I don’t usually comment like this. But this one just did not seem right. Not being a hater – but if somethings not right – it really helps if people ask questions and point out stuff. Helps those who are new to that product/item / coupon. This time around I did learn a lot of stuff.

I don’t hate Immc. Cuisine. But do you think they did a good job in presenting this deal to the DC community? They probably expected people to just gobble up whatever they dish out.

Gordon .

To everyone on this message board – I have ordered food through Immaculate Cuisine and highly recommend their product. The food is delicious, their customer service is excellent and they have proven very reliable. For all of the vegan/vegetarian customers on this board, my wife (who is a vegetarian) has only good things to say about their service.
i hope this helps.

Leanne M.

Kora- sounds like a fabulous deal! Sorry you ended up with so many difficult folks on here. Not all of us groupon users are so obnoxious. Hang in there! Much success to you…..

Jane L.

Hello, Immaculate Cuisine & Groupon:

I think this is an awesome offer, and I think that the whiners should realize that not all offers are universal. You’ll get some offers others don’t, if that makes you feel any better.
I am buying for myself, (a Vegan) and for my elderly parents—one is a vegetarian & one is not. We have some food allergies.
I am expecting that I.C. will modify their menu to suit all of us.
I will simply tell them what to include and what not to include.
This is their way of promoting their biz, so I am guessing they’ll do their best.

Am I correct, Miss Kora?

At this price, if they dissapoint, it’s not a huge loss.

When do we receive our groupons?

Thank you,

Jane

Alice L.

@Groupon: Just telling someone that you ‘appreciate’ their comments does not alleviate the situation. Yes, I understand you depend on both the customers purchasing the deals but honestly, I can’t see many businesses wanting to deal with you guys for your passivity in allowing some troll attack one of your partners.

@Mribank: If it’s not for you, then you don’t need to comment. Why bother coming onto the forum anyway? Why are you wasting your time arguing what terminology Kora used and did not use or even criticizing how they do business? My god, you even had something to say about the prices. $9 for breakfast, lunch and dinner – I would love it if that were the prices for someone delivering food to my door but that’s UNREALISTIC. I’d be skeptical of anybody who did that and wonder what my food was REALLY made of.

Most people do not know the term pescatarian. If someone said they were a vegetarian but they still eat seafood, people would understand. If someone said that they were pescatarian – no doubt you’d get many an average folk showing a blank face. My understanding of the entire situation is that Kora directed her answers and used semantics geared towards the general public.

Unfortunately, some of you decided to take this as a chance to attack her business, ethics, and even her age.

Best of luck to you Kora. I cook for myself so I won’t be purchasing this time.

@JANE-I BELIEVE YOUR CONFIRMATION WILL COME FROM GROUPON AND IF YOU HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED IT PLEASE LET US KNOW AND WE WILL CHECK ON IT FOR YOU.

I’ve been so horrified by the low level of discourse and rudeness of the commentators in this discussion that I bought the Groupon as a way of supporting the vendor. If you’re not interested in something offered, pass it up without blindly bashing the vendor, for heaven’s sake! I had no problem passing up the pole dancing classes without comment.
Grace S.

Kora,

Might you expand on what you’d be substituting for the non-vegan portion of a particular entree to render it vegan?

How, for instance, will your “Pepper Steak Sandwich & Lemon Herb Salted Fries w/ a side of Horseradish Cream Sauce & Balsamic Glaze” offering be rendered vegan?

Thanks!

@Karen-THANK YOU!

@Gabriel-We could use one of our bean patties that we make, we could use seared eggplant, or of course a meaty portabella, tofu, soy cheeses, there are so many different options we could take with that option. The sauces come on the side, and the fries are cooked in a soybean blend oil.

Dawn A.

Kora
Sorry, but I may have missed this trying to sift thru all of the ******* comments. I am a pescetarian(sp) will I be able to get both fish and veggie/vegan meals or is that not an option?

mae .

Kora,
I’m sure the number of folks ordering this deal would more than double if more details were on your website (one location for information) regarding specifics on delivery location..meal ingredients…and rules spelling out different food options. This would also reduce the number of unclear and negative comments. I guarantee if you went to your website and tried to order a meal plan you’d be little confused too.
I plan to order because I trust that this is a good company and that your service will be on point.
But in the near future would recommend that you hire a person to update your website because it appears to be set up for those who plan on visiting your location as opposed to handling online orders.

kora p.

@Dawn-Sorry I am just getting packed to you, because we are a catering company we are not available on the weekends because of events. However yes you would be able to get that option.

Grace B.

Has anyone used this deal yet?

I’m frustrated with their customer service, and wonder if the food is even worth the drama. It seems Immaculate either lacks the capacity to deal with so many orders, or they aren’t very interested in providing the best service possible. Case in point, the instructions on the website when I bought the groupon were that I had to fax my order in, then call and confirm the wednesday before my week of choice. Note here that Immaculate Cuisine does not have any responsibility to confirm to me that they have received my order or are processing it. Add that to a nonexistent receptionist (I have called 5 times since I bought this groupon, always during business hours, I have spoken to an actual person twice. The other times the phone just rang and rang. And you can’t leave a voice message) and tracking an order with Immaculate is like tracking a squirrel that has my nut.

Last week I called to confirm my order for this week – thankfully someone picked up the phone. She then told me that IF I had faxed the order, then it might have been illegible – they had a whole pile of faxed orders that they couldn’t read. And I’m thinking, what do you mean “IF”?? The instructions were that I HAD to fax the order, and I told her this. She responded that if my order was in the ‘unreadable’ pile, I would receive an email from them that day. I didn’t get an email.

So its monday afternoon, and I still don’t know if Immaculate got my order or not, and if they will be delivering it to my office today. What a mess.

This goes back to my point about customer service. What would it have cost the staff person at the company to check on my order while I was on the phone and tell me then whether they had gotten it? Simple gestures like this separate third-rate companies from the best. We’re talking about a week’s worth of food here. I didn’t know whether to buy groceries this weekend or not, because I wasn’t sure that Immaculate was delivering my order to me.

I’m debating whether to stick it out or return this groupon. I definitely would not recommend anyone using Immaculate at all. They may or may not have good food (I wouldn’t know cuz they didn’t deliver to me!). But their customer service is shoddy, short-sighted and a waste of bloody time. This increases the cost of purchasing their food. No matter how good the food might be (and once again, I can’t even tell), is it worth the running around faxing shit and calling them and not getting any answers?

Megen D.

Grace B. did you get your order? I went to the site today and was a little confused about what to do regarding confirmation.

Grace B.

No, I didn’t get it. I would tell you to call and hassle them for confirmation, but I’m kind of burnt out on the whole immaculate thing.

Konstantine S.

Never got my order delivered—apparently, it was my fault for not reading the instructions in the email. I don’t have a problem with that, but I didn’t appreciate having that screamed in my ear by whoever was in the car delivering the food to my house—where I left a cooler with ice in it so that the food would be safe. Apparently, it’s a no-no per some regulations—which is OK by me—but why get so angry at a customer? I wasn’t offered any alternatives even when I asked for them—but when I suggested donating the food to the homeless shelter, the yelling was topped off with “OK, I was about to offer you something, but now that’s off the table”.

I like good food, and I certainly would have liked good food delivered to me. My fault that I didn’t read the directions in whatever documents I was sent (should I also mention the fact that some of the ordering instructions on the IC’s site are self-contradicting), but I don’t think I did anything so horrible as to deserve the yelling.

I have another Groupon for the IC…still trying to decide what to do—on one hand, I do want to see what they are all about…on the other hand, as many people here have noted, is it really worth the trouble?

J D.

Great meal did not care for the soup dinner that much but everything else was really good. Meal was dropped off at my neighbors, it all worked out would order from them again.

Daria W.

Just got mine Sept. 7th. I have not finished everything yet but so far the meatloaf and turkey burger were delicious. It was nice to have some prepared lunches and dinners to save this busy lawyer and new mom from cooking a few meals this week. I would use them again. One flub, I requested a change of delivery address to my mom’s place since they were delivering on the Tuesday instead of Monday due to holiday when I was home. They delivered to my place anyway in error but fortunately my husband just happened to be home sick that day.

Cara M.

I got my order without any drama, but the food is completely not worth the full price. The lack of options and the portion sizes bothered me the most. The quality of the food is pretty much acceptable for $6.43 per meal (what it works out to with the groupon) but I feel like I can get better food at the same price elsewhere in the city, and I certainly wouldn’t pay $12+ per meal for it. There also seems to be zero effort toward sustainability, either in seasonal offerings, organic/local ingredients, or packaging.
Bummer.

I purchased two Groupons. I used one for myself for Dec 6-10. After receiving an email saying orders were delivered to DC between 7 AM and 11:30 AM I was contacted at 9:50 AM on Monday the 6th and informed that they were “running behind”. The driver called to confirm the address at about 12:30 AM, and to tell me they’d call when they were on the way. I hadn’t heard anything, so around 3:30 PM I called the driver back. He said they were still coming and he’d call when they were on the way. My food was not delivered until after 6:30 PM.

I submitted an order for the second Groupon to send my aunt, who is visually impaired, meals for the week of Dec 13-17. I received a message from Groupon two days after submitting the order saying the Groupon was no longer available for redemption and that my money had been refunded.

I don’t understand this practice of offering a discounted service and then deciding suddenly that you just don’t want to anymore, and without even notifying customers who’ve placed orders. I certainly hope Groupon will take this behavior into account before promoting offers from this business in the future. The customer service is abysmal.

Below is the reply I got from Immaculate Cuisine in response to my email:

Hi Kera,

Immaculate Cuisine has canceled all remaining orders through Groupon and has insured that all unredeemed orders have been refunded.
