During each Micro-LASIK procedure, the doctor uses a laser to create an ultrathin flap—80 microns thinner than with traditional LASIK—to access the cornea for reconstruction. Micro-LASIK is often used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, and the modernized method decreases recovery time and the chance of side effects such as dry eyes.
