$69.99 for a Photography Workshop ($350 Value)
The Editorial Portraiture workshop teaches students how to compose portrait photographs with the assistance of three models—including a child. Classes last about three to four hours, depending on the weather, and are on the first Sunday of each month at noon. First, students will learn about portrait methods in the studio. For the remainder of workshop, the class and models will move to Pomona's downtown arts district. Photographers will snap pictures of the models while incorporating both natural and cityscape elements and will learn how best to use available light. Students should be able to change aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, metering, and focal points while in the manual mode of their digital cameras, freeing up the instructor to assist students with technique instead.
Je M'appelle Artistry
"I am artistry"—that's the translation of Je M'appelle Artistry, as well as owner Shonny's philosophy. Shonny works as a photographer, designer, and instructor, often combining all three passions. Snapping photos with her Nikon D600, she captures intimate boudoir scenes, romantic wedding images, and fanciful kids' shots, focusing on portraits. She extends this love of portraits into group or private workshops, where students learn to incorporate natural light and elements into their pictures. Her photos have been published in the cloth-diapering book Changing Diapers; she also designs her own cloth-diaper and clothing patterns.
