Students choose from five workshops:

During the Basic Camera Operation workshop, the instructor takes 10 students through manual settings step by step, discussing how to control the focus and ISO and adjust the white balance so they can stop covering their subjects in flour. The Mastering Manual Photography workshop helps intermediate students feel more comfortable with aperture, shutter speed, and controlled exposure. Beginner students looking to learn more about light manipulation should look no further than the Understanding Lighting and Flash workshop, a course in which students learn the different qualities of natural light and how to best put it to use. Alternatively, students can learn the finer points of the software programs Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop. See the schedule of workshops. Pupils should bring along their own digital cameras and memory cards. Lightroom workshops focus on the importing, selection, and cataloging of images, as well as developing images to look their best. The Photoshop classes cover actions including cropping and straigntening, retouching, removing red eye, making skies blue, and adding text to images.

Now, after more than a decade of aiming her lens at grinning faces and lush rainforests, her love for the art form has only grown stronger. Though experienced in all manner of portraiture, Jennifer specializes in maternity and infant, child, and family photographs bound for homes atop mantels or brochures for giving robots feelings. When not zooming in on beaming faces, Jennifer snaps shots of rushing cascades and dew-jeweled petals.

Jennifer’s eponymous photography studio helps subjects get on the other side of the lens during group workshops, which cover everything from the basics of digital-camera settings to the art of lighting outdoor shoots without inciting fireflies to riot.
