John Rowinski Massage & Lymphatic Therapy

Massage therapist John Rowinski abides by the Goldilocks method: If one massage is too gentle and another too firm, then the one in between should be just right. This approach led him to create the "deep Swedish" modality, a middle ground between the flowing kneads of a standard Swedish massage and the highly focused pressure of deep-tissue work. His clients are far from limited to these three options, however. Each of John's massages is a custom and distinct experience, and he channels more than 20 years of practice—conducted at spas, medical centers, and athletic venues—to inform his services.

His pampering menu also highlights hot-stone massages, which coax tension from muscles by warming them with ocean basalt stones. His prenatal massages allow expectant mothers to recline on their sides, propped against a specialized body pillow that optimizes comfort. Though it is not classified as a massage, his lymphatic-drainage therapy does involve manual manipulation and aims to enhance the natural flow of lymph fluid throughout the body for increased well-being and relaxing "whoosh" sounds. John administers these services at his own venue or on location, traveling to patrons' homes or offices for an additional fee.
