Folk wisdom about not looking a gift horse in the mouth is obsolete, now that horses are no longer bred to belch gift boxes at high speeds. Enjoy improved equine exhalations with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

  • $22 for a one-hour daytime guided group trail ride for two (a $44 value)
  • $44 for a one-hour daytime guided group trail ride for four (an $88 value)
  • $66 for a one-hour daytime guided group trail ride for six (a $132 value)

During each guided ride, groups climb aboard their mounts to explore verdant trails that wind through the forest and countryside surrounding the stables. The seasoned guide sets the pace of each excursion to suit each group’s level of riding experience. Each horse is saddled up Western style, though riders accustomed to the English or Australian styles of riding can request those upon registration.

Juro Stables

For more than 20 years, Juro Stables’ husband-and-wife owners—Sara and Roger West, riding enthusiasts with backgrounds in the entertainment industry—have been instilling equestrian ardor in their students with guided trail rides and horseback-riding lessons. Dedicated to granting visitors of all ages and experience levels a chance to saddle up, the dynamic duo maintains a fleet of friendly horses that vary in size and temperament to ensure that each rider is paired with a suitably matched steed. Sage guides lead trail rides around the scenic landscapes surrounding the stables, wending past sites including active 6-foot-high creeks, ruins of old 19th-century homesteads, and wagon wheels carelessly left behind by litterbug pioneers. A cadre of expert instructors imparts their horse sense upon students during group and private lessons, and outdoor enthusiasts can continue to commune with nature during post-lesson revelries amid onsite primitive camping and cooking facilities.

The Groupon Guide to: Scaring Yourself

Whether you're attempting to cure hiccups or simply bringing your heart rate up to trick people into thinking you're capable of love, there are many methods to giving yourself a good scare:

  • Stare into the cold, black, unfeeling eyes of a dolphin.
  • Blindfold yourself while someone plays an MP3 that sounds like fireworks going off dangerously close to you.
  • Look at some pictures of air pollution from a 1970s textbook (air pollution is still around, but it was scarier back then).
  • Try to maintain eye contact while shaking the hand of your more successful father.
  • The next time you travel by air, imagine the worst—the airplane could be full of Chuckies.

What are the most popular ways to scare yourself? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
