My wife (who loves pottery) and I will be on vacation in Honolulu for one week. However, on one of the answer posts, you mentioned that it will take two weeks for the pieces to dry after the first class. Would it be possible to attend two classes during a 1-week period, knowing that we may not be able to leave with a completed project? Do you have any recommendations on what we could do?

Hi, It does take about two weeks for the pieces to dry. We then bisque fire the pieces. After they are fired for the first time you can glaze them which is a much quicker process. Since it takes time for them to dry before the first fire we would not be able to guarantee your pottery would be completed. If you want to just come in for the experience and are not worried about taking a finished piece home you are more than welcome to come in for two classes during that week. I would like to purchase this for my daughter in law as a birthday gift. She has taken beginners class to pottery and has taken several pottery classes at KCC. Will this gift coupon allow her to take an advance class in pottery? Thank you.

Hi Doris, Yes if your daughter-in-law has already taken a class we can definitely adjust the class to meet her needs. We are very flexible. Just let her know to mention it to us when she comes in for her classes. Thanks!

WILL WE LEAVE WITH A COMPLETED PROJECT AND WHAT IS THE APPROPRIATE MINIMUM AGE?

During the first class you will make your 1-3 pieces of pottery. Each of the projects you make will need about two weeks to dry. We will then bisque fire the pieces you have chosen to keep. When you return for your second class you will then learn how to glaze your pieces. Once you glaze your projects we will then fire them again. Once they have been through the second fire you can pick up your finished projects. Your favorite piece is free and if you choose to fire more than one piece it will be 10 cents per cubic inch.
