Crowns and veneers cover up teeth imperfections. Veneers are typically applied to smaller areas and crowns to larger ones. During the first of about three veneer appointments, the dentist consults with patients to discuss options and find the optimal shape and color of veneer. During the second appointment, the dentist lightly buffs the tooth and takes impressions. Finally, during the third appointment, the doctor affixes the veneers on top of the teeth, concealing gaps, discoloration, crookedness, or chips.

Crowns are synthetic caps placed on top of a tooth and restore both tooth function and appearance. They are generally used to restore a tooth that has advanced decay, prevent a cracked tooth from cracking further, or cover an implant. The dentist first reduces the tooth so it can accommodate the crown and then takes an impression. The impression is made to create a custom crown. It may take several visits to completely install the crown.

Looking at his datebook, you would think Dr. Kent S. Lamoreux never gets tired. When he’s not working at his dental practice, he's teaching as an adjunct professor at the Case School of Dental Medicine. When he's not teaching, he donates his time and dental expertise to the Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland. After more than 30 years as a dentist, he tried to give retirement a shot, but quickly found that he enjoyed his work even more than gardening, airplane-model building, beekeeping, or the other hobbies retired people are legally required to take up.

Happily back at work, Dr. Lamoreux’s dental practice benefits from his boundless energy and zeal. When he found he wasn't content with standard extractions and root canals, Dr. Lamoreux learned to cover the full range of dental services, from general dentistry to cosmetic and restorative types. His comprehensive knowledge base means that he can treat patients himself, which is the leading cause of the thick layer of dust on his rolodex of dental specialists.

The Groupon Guide to: Basketball Plays

Though it might seem like basketball players are just running around to maintain enough sweat to look beautiful on television, they are actually running complex offensive plays. Here are some simple plays that you can try out next time you hit the hardtop:

Dribble Drive: Each offensive player grabs a basketball and dribbles to the hoop. The one who dribbles fastest wins the points.

Pick and Roll: One of the players "picks" which teammate he believes will be the one to shoot the ball. If he is correct, the player that took the shot has to call a timeout so he can immediately get his reward—a "roll" filled with ham and creamed corn.

Backdoor Cut: This is considered the trickiest play in basketball because it requires the offensive team to distract the defense by having their coach put on a top hat, wander onto the court, and ask the defensive players if they'd like to see what his head looks like without a top hat. If the defensive players ignore the coach's distraction, the offensive players should blow on the defenders' eyes until the dryness becomes unbearable.

Which basketball player was voted most beautiful?
