Science can be a frightening word, particularly when it's listed under cause of death and followed by three exclamation points. Overcome your fear of knowledge with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $144 for a five-day robotics camp for one child (a $288 value)
- $288 for a five-day robotics camp for two children (a $576 value)
At the outset of the five-day camp, students ages 9-14 years old learn robotics basics on a pretend space shuttle before visiting a series of moons where they enrich their terraforming skills. Those training sessions culminate in a journey to the planet Pantheon, which campers transform into a sustainable environment for humanoids.
The imaginative hands-on session uses Lego Mindstorms and other advanced software programs to teach up to 24 kids science, technology, engineering, and mathematical concepts. Open to students aged 9–14, the camp runs from June 10-14, June 17-21, June 24-28, July 1-5, July 8-12, July 15-19, July 22-26, July 29-August 2, August 5-9, August 12-16, and August 19-23 from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m., 12 p.m.-2:30 p.m., and 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Kids Robotech Club
Playing with Legos is a classic pastime, but at Kids Robotech Club, Legos do more than pass time: they help kids build skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. During year-round classes, students learn about gear ratios, locomotion, and energy as they assemble robots using Lego Mindstorms products. Second- through fourth-graders build basic models during six-week beginners classes, and fifth- through ninth-graders fashion more advanced bots that can move objects, sumo wrestle, and feel jealous when you build a second robot. Along with hands-on robotics work, the club hosts a beginners class in game design where students can create their own maze, platform, and racing video games.
