can the passes be used on two kids instead of just one kid?
September 13 – October 31, 2010. Why such a small window of time?
Is it just the classes portion that expires Oct 31 – surely the 10 play passes don’t expire? Can someone please clarify because it makes a big difference as to weather or not I want to purchase the groupon. Thank you.
Please clarify the expiration date. I’ve canceled my order in the meantime. Thank you to the other posters for pointing out that it’s not clear when things expire. I had assumed it meant we had until the end of October to trade in the groupon and get the passes etc., but that we could use all those things (classes, discount, playspace passes, haircut) during the whole fall semester.
Can I buy today’s groupon if my son is enrolled with kidville already? Or is it only for new costumers?
If I enroll my son, can both myself or my caregiver bring him to classes/playspace since I am not with him all days of the week? And, I too am confused by the expiration date? Are they seriously only allowing us one month?
Also, the playspace hours are not posted on th website for the Park Slope location, so I have no idea if we can make any of those hours.
And if so many parents buy this deal and we all only have one month to attend will they even have room for all of us?
Do all three of the classes and all playspace passes have to be used at the same location? None of them are particularly close to me, so I might like to try a few out.

Good morning everyone! I wanted to respond to a few of the questions brought up:
The expiration date for the offer is October 31st. However, as early as tomorrow, you can call us to schedule your haircut, take advantage of your 30% discount in any of our boutique locations listed, and come in for the playspace!
Beginning September 13th through October 31st, you will be able to take your three trial classes with us as well.
Playspace passes can be used for any sibling 5 years and under.
10 playspace passes to be used in 6 weeks? is this correct?
Juliette-the playspace hours for the Park Slope location will be posted on our website on Friday September 10th and the facility will be open starting Monday, September 13th. In the meantime, we would love to have you and your family come to our Upper East Side, Upper West Side, or Tribeca locations for the next few weeks to take advantage of your discounts and playspace passes!
You and/any other authorized adult is more than welcome to bring your child or children to playspace or classes as well.

There are 8 weeks total to use the playspace passes, schedule your haircut, and use your 30% discount and 6 weeks to take advantage of your trial classes.

Typically our members will have a “home facility” where they schedule their classes and playspace but I know you mentioned that you aren’t as close to one particular location. Give us a call to discuss and we can see what might work best for you and your family!
I have 5 year old twins. So that equals 2 playspace passes used each time we come in???
And if they both want to try out the classes, do I have to pay for the second one and how much?
I’d like to sign up for the deal but am worried about being able to reserve classes in the time allowed. I know it has been said that a large number of classes will be made available….but if we can’t be accommodated then what?
Also, it looks like a lot of the classes fill up fast. If the class we choose is at capacity, will they still be allowed in to try it out?

You would need to purchase two groupons in order to take advantage of trial classes for both children and a haircut for both. With each of the groupons, you will get 10 playspace passes so you would have 20 total passes to use.
To answer your question specifically, for the playspace, it is one ticket per child per day but there tend to be multiple sessions within a day that you would be able to attend just by using the two tickets.

I live near Union Square but that Kidville is not open yet. Will you offer any extensions for this offer at that location?
It looks like that there are no play space hours at the Hoboken location past Sept. 10th. Is that true? And if there are more dates, will the playspace be open after school hours (from 3:30 on?)?

Yes-for anyone interested in taking their sample classes at our Union Square location, we will extend the expiration date for the sample classes since they will open in October. You can still begin to take advantage of the other offers as early as tomorrow morning and we will contact you when the location options to schedule your classes!
Groupon and Kidville, I really hope you’ll offer this deal again in the spring — given the very short window of time in which the classes and playspace passes can be used, I have to pass because my son is only 2.5 months old. Since he’s not sitting/crawling, and won’t be for a few months, I fear we wouldn’t be able to take advantage of everything (such as the haircut). I would have purchased if the expiration date had been 12/31/10 or the end of the fall semester. Just something to think about for next time.
I am also interested in attending the Union Square location and did not realize it did not open until October before I had purchased this package…how do I go about using our 3 classes and passes for playspace? When will the Union Square location be open?
The playspace hours posted for most locations are our summer break hours. The playspace hours for the Fall 2010 semester, which begins September 13th, will be posted for all locations on that Friday, September 10th.
I also recommend calling the specific location that you are interested in to see what hours they typically offer.

Hi Dana. We’re on the UWS. I just called that location and learned that in the fall, you’ll have play space hours Saturday morning, as well as two evenings a week. This is great! Now all we need are evening classes for us working moms!

I’d like to sign my 3 year old up for the classes, but not my 11 month old (his nap schedule is very iffy and he has no hair!). I’m not sure my 3 year old will stay by himself since he’s never been left anywhere without me before. Will I be able to bring the baby along as long as he’s held? Most likely he’ll be napping in the stroller or carrier. And I’m hoping after the first class my older boy will not mind me leaving for the short amount of time. Thanks.

Our 3 year old classes are separation optional so you can definitely stay with him with your younger child as long as he is with you at all times. Many of our locations also have a waiting area with a few chairs as well so that you can stay on premise even if you decide to drop him off for class.

I have a 3 year old and a 8 month old. Can I buy 1 groupon and use the classes for the 3 year old and then use the playspace passes for both kids?
Will the registration fee still be waived if we choose to enroll in classes?
I want to buy this deal for my 4 year old. I can do dropoff for the classes but as far as the playspace, I would need to bring my infant in with me as well. He won’t be participating though— he’s not crawling yet or anything. Will this be OK?

Even if your daughter turns 6 before Oct. 31st, you can still take classes and utilize the playspace before the promotion expires.
When can I call to schedule my 3 classes? I do see I can start with the boutique discount and haircuts tomorrow.
I am a little worried about capacity here because I think some of the classes fill up early even without a promotion, especially if kids need after-school hours. Also on the age question, what if we sign up for a trial with 5 yearolds—will the class they try still be appropriate for 6 yearolds if we like it and want to do the full semester.

In response to ages, if your child is 5 years old when you are taking the trial classes, and you want to continue with us for the remainder of the Fall semester (which we hope you will!), the activities will still be age appropriate since the age group of the program refers to the age of the child at the beginning of the semester.

When you give us a call starting tomorrow, we will get you set up for redeeming your Groupon. We can schedule your haircut and have you use the playspace passes at one of our other locations in the meantime and will take all of your information to give you a call to schedule you for classes at the Union Square location once the facility opens.

Alyssa-Reservations are required for haircuts and sample classes. You can give us a call starting tomorrow to schedule your haircut and start using the playspace. To schedule you sample classes, we ask that you give us a call starting September 13th when our semester begins.
Michelle-as the Groupon states, it is one per child. So the child registered for the classes would also be the child elligible for the haircut. You can definitely use the 10 playspace passes for both children however.

Loren-sorry for the miscommunication! Groupon will absolutely be accepted for the Union Square location. We are extending the expiration date for Union Square sample classes since they are not open yet.

Annie-Midtown West will be opening September 13th for classes so there is no extention needed.
Hi Pamela, Kidville’s annual registration fee ($76) is included in the price of this Groupon and remains active for a full year. Your playspace passes will be for the Park Slope location if that is where you would like to take your sample classes. But if you would like to use the playspace either tomorrow or next while while that location is closed, you are more than welcome to use your passes at one of our other locations.

When you register with us, we will take all of your information and give you a form to fill out. On this form you can list any adults that would be bringing your child into our facility.

Only 8 weeks to use 10 passes is still limited that’s not even 1 per week. September is still hot and Oct should be warm, no need to rush indoors to play.
Nice deal, but seems like i agree w/ most of the sentiment – the value is hyped due to using passes that we’ll be struggling to rush to use, vs. using at our leisure.
An expiration of End of December, or even november might have tempted me.
For now, bottom line is $65 for 3 classes. At $22 per class, that’s about the going rate – NOT a deal!

Bea M. – With all due respect, It looks like you are either committed to taking your kids to Gymboree or you own a Gymboree and can’t deal with the fact that Kidville is a million times better than any other place.
Bea- I called today and the playspace is open like over 20 times a week… and did you forget about the rest of the deal? There’s a free haircut and big discounts at the boutique and cafe and no registration fee.

What is the regular hours of Kidville? We are interested in the Park Slope location. I am wondering whether it has the kids hair cut on site or we need to travel to Manhattan. Is there limited hours per use of the pass? What do you mean by there are several sessions per day? For the three trial classes, are they good for one child or I can have my two kids split them?
I may have missed this question but may both my husband and I come in at the same time to attend a class with my son? I realize that it doesnt have to be the same guardian each visit, but didnt know if two parents can bring one child to each class. Thanks!

Ming-the Kidville Salon is located in Manhattan at our Upper West Side location so that would be the location for you to get the free haircut.
The playspace is open different times Monday-Friday at the Park Slope location-we normally will try to offer an early afternoon session (from around 11:30-1:00 or 12:10-1:00) and an evening session (4:15-5:45). The hours for this location will be posted on Friday, September 10th so check out our website for the specific days and times offered.
While the playspace passes can be used for both kids, the trial classes are for one child per Groupon. If you want both children to take trial classes, you will need to purchase two.
Danielle-we typically ask one adult per child in the classes but if you would like to both attend, let us know ahead of time so that we can make sure there is enough space!

i bought this under the impression that the union square kidville would be available in October 2010 and that I could take my sample classes there. Now that the location opening has been delayed, will you postpone the expiration?

I noticed you answer most of the users questions here.
I purchased the Groupon but am not at all happy with the location I chose. My son hasn’t taken any classes yet, but I did bring my son to the play space for the first time today. I would like to move my classes to the Union Square location when it opens. It’s a lot closer to where we live. I noticed in one of your discussions that you told another member they could use their play space passes at one of your locations now and then take their classes at Union Square. I would like to do the same if that’s possible.
Just a little feedback: the classes are really really great, the haircut is excellent. Unfortunately, the playspace aspect of this Groupon has proved to be extremely frustrating. When the deal was offered, the playspace hours were still very generous, but the fall hours have proved to be virtually impossible to make. One is during prime naptime hours and the other is generally right before dinner. I’ve tried to make two late afternoon sessions — showing up 15-20 minutes ahead of time - and there was already a waitlist! I still have 8 passes to use and just a few more weeks to use them. I still feel that I’ve gotten my money’s worth, but do feel there was a bait & switch going on as the real playspace hours weren’t posted at time of purchase. Why is there always a trick to these deals? Caveat emptor. :(
