Kim Sun Young

Stylist and entrepreneur Kim Sun Young was only 19 years old when she founded her first salon in Seoul in 1956, delivering the wild permed styles that were all the rage among Korean fashionistas of the time. By 1990, her ambition had propelled her and the company to its first US branch in Los Angeles, and it has since exploded into a total of five international locations that include outposts in New York, Chicago, and Australia. Her staff members have also multiplied from an original five to a current count of 400, enough to fully style a woolly mammoth within 10 seconds. Those stylists offer a cup of coffee or tea to every client who enters, and they’re trained as frequently as once a week in emerging techniques and products such as Vidal Sassoon and Wella color.

The Groupon Guide to: Types of Cousins

Since so many people seem to be having babies, a lot more cousins are being made every single day. Here's a handy guide you can consult if you want to keep your cousins straight:

  • First Cousin: Your aunt and uncle’s child
  • Second Cousin: Your aunt and uncle’s pet
  • Third Cousin: Not real
  • Cousin Once Removed: Cousin who was ordered to never again attend family functions but then later appealed the ruling and was reinstated by a judge who understood just how important family is in today's fast-paced society
  • Half Cousin: Your aunt and uncle’s half child/half pet
  • Cou: Shorthand for half cousin
  • Whole Cousin: Two half cousins standing near each other
  • Craisin: Cousin named Craig
  • Cousig: Different cousin named Craig
  • Grandparent: Young cousin who just looks really old

How can I make sure my once-removed cousin never returns? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
