Cooking classes take place every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During classes, students follow the hands-on instruction of Chef Mendoza while learning and practicing new techniques. Each class utilizes mostly local ingredients and features a specific culinary theme, such as French, Italian, or Asian cuisine. Afterward, students enjoy a prix fixe meal, compliments of the chef.

The restaurant’s effort to support its neighbors produces an ever-changing menu, one that staff members scrawl on a blackboard along with a new long-division problem every day. With each visit, diners have the chance to peruse that blackboard for something new, from salads, sandwiches, and burgers to hearty entrees, such as meatloaf and fried chicken.
