In a world without kites, windy days would only benefit bored tumbleweeds, plastic bags stuck in tree branches, and the slowest birds in the flock. Fly like the wind with today’s Groupon for introductory kiteboarding lessons from Kite Force Academy. Lessons take place on the weekend at local lakes or parks in the Kansas City area. Choose between the following options:

  • For $50, you get a one-hour Stage 1 introductory kiteboarding lesson (a $100 value).
  • For $99, you get a three-hour Stage 1 introductory kiteboarding lesson (a $300 value).

The Professional Air Sport Association–certified instructors from Kite Force Academy teach small groups of two to four students the essential skills used for kiting sports on water, land, and snow. During a one-hour discovery lesson, kite connoisseurs teach wind theory and superconspiracy theories as they help students fly trainer power kites on land. A three-hour introductory cadet-training lesson delves deeper to explain concepts such as wind windows, control-bar anatomy, and harnesses. Students will also acquaint themselves with inflating, rigging, and self-rescue techniques as they grow more comfortable with larger, depowerable kites. The individualized attention of cadet training ensures that wind whisperers build a strong foundation for kiteboarding, snowkiting, landkiting, and flying handmade box kites.
