IPL is used to target the variations in skin that happen over time (like sun spots, wrinkles, and acne). I am not sure what you mean exactly by "tightening effect" but if your main concern is removing the visibility of sun spots on your skin IPL treatments can definitely do that. I cannot say without looking at the skin how many sessions it would take to treat you, but I do highly suggest getting our deal for 3 or 4 IPL treatments since they are at a heavily reduced price.

We do apply sunscreen on you afterward, but we highly recommend to avoid the sun as much as possible for the remainder of the day. Your skin will be sensitive to light and any unnecessary sun exposure could mitigate the effects of the IPL treatment.

Yes. IPL treatments work on almost all types of skin, and depending on what exactly you are trying to reduce (sun spots, acne) IPL is mostly effective either alone or in conjunction with another treatment (such as a facial, or microdermabrasion)

It is difficult to avoid the sun, specially in sunny Southern California. If you must be in the sun for extended periods prior to coming in for your IPL treatment, just make sure to wear SPF 30 or higher sunscreen to prevent any further sun exposure on your skin. We also do apply sunscreen on you after your IPL treatment, and do advise you to avoid the sun if possible.

An IPL fotofacial goes in two steps: 1) we clean your face to make sure all make up and excess skin is removed; and 2) IPL treatment for 20-25 mins which targets the skin area to help reduce any variance in pigmentation and make your skin look healthy and new! For those who have a more oily skin type, or those who have other skin issues (like acne) we do recommend to get a regular facial first before the IPL to make the IPL treatment more effective. We also also offer a "lifting mask" with our IPL which acts as a face lift, but without any type of surgery!
