Paddlers of all ages and ability levels gather on the sands of Newport Dunes for Paddle Party 2012's festivities, which include a bevy of beachside activities such as a water park, live music, hula dancing, a kids' treasure hunt, and a 1.5-mile scenic paddle around Back Bay, all sponsored by Laguna Beach Paddle Boarding and Cal Coast Fitness as a fundraiser for Hailey’s House. All participating paddlers kick off the event by congregating in an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for largest group paddleboarding lesson. Throughout the day, visitors can hone their paddling skills in various standup paddleboard lessons. See the full event schedule.
Food, beverages, and paddleboards will be provided, though attendees are free to bring their own boards, if desired. In addition to entertaining guests, Paddle Party 2012's mission is to raise awareness for Hailey’s House, a nonprofit organization that helps teenage girls make positive life choices and offers house call services and residential programs for troubled teenage girls.
Laguna Beach Paddle Boarding
Beneath the surface of the serene Pacific Ocean, a reef wall bustles with a vibrant mix of coral, fish, and crustaceans. Though known for its beauty, the underwater landscape also shelters the shoreline from choppy waves. In these tranquil waters, the instructors at Laguna Beach Paddle Boarding share their standup paddleboarding expertise with students of all skill levels. The ideal water conditions are augmented by wide, stable Padillac paddleboards. The staff hands these out during lessons and tours of Laguna Beach's Treasure Island Coves, named as such to distract visitors from where the treasure is actually hidden: Dennis Rodman's basement.
Laguna Beach Paddle Boarding also hosts an annual Paddle Party and frequent Paddle Girl Parties to raise awareness for the nonprofit organization Hailey's House, which helps guide teenage girls to make positive life choices.
