During two-hour kayak or paddleboard rentals, guests explore Lake Lure's scenic beauty while simultaneously honing sporting skills. No onsite training is required for kayak or paddleboard rentals, but those who rent a pontoon first read over a short instructional manual and memorize a map detailing the exact location of the lake's bathtub plug. During the rental, guests can fish for mountain trout, take in the mountain lake's scenery, or swim, and each boat comes outfitted with a cooler and flotation devices. Pontoon boat departure times are 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 4 p.m., and multiple Groupons can be used back-to-back to create a longer rental day.
