Does anyone know what the minimum increment of time is for using an assistant’s services? In other words, can the 4 hours be broken down in to 4 1-hour increments or some similar arrangement?
How far reaching is the service? Can service be provided in Paramus?

You need to use the 4 hours of personal assistant services at one time, it cannot be broken down to separate visits. If you do not use the full 4 hours it does not carry over, there is no credit. Let me know if you have any other questions. Enjoy!

Will the assistant travel to LI (western LI specifically). Also, can they assist with party hosting (greeting guests, taking coast, circulating hors d’oeuvres, buffet set up, picking up empty glasses etc?)

Assistants can absolutely travel to LI and New Jersey; however, there would be additional costs involved. The assistant’s travel time would have to be compensated, as well as the cost of transportation to/from the location. If you buy 2 Groupons you need to use them back to back for a total of 8 hours of personal assistant services. If you bought more than 2 you need to gift the remainder to others. BRAD – You do not need to buy any more packages. The maximum is 2 packages per person (8 hours), there is no minimum requirement for yourself or as a gift.
CATHERINE – Any hours that would go beyond the purchased package (maximum of 8 hours) would be charged at the standard Lambent Services rate.
CASSANDRA – Yes, assistants can help in your move. Just be sure to let them know beforehand so that he/she dresses appropriately for the task.
HEATHER – The coupon expires in 1 year, so the end of October is fine.

Is it possible for the assistant to just work from home? I have internet related work that I could use the help with, but I wouldnt need for them to come to me.
If I purchase (2) 4-hour blocks, do I have to use all 8 hours the same day or can I use (2) 4-hour blocks over 2 days? Also, are services such as data entry/contact management (merging and combining and purging duplicates for a few thousand contacts stored in multiple formats) included? Thank you.

(1) A lot of this will require shopping. Can I trust the assistant with my credit card or cash?
(2) Can the person bartend/host? (may require changing clothes)
(3) Can the person perform cleaning services (afterwards)
(4) Can the person work late? or how late can they work?
Separately, can I buy this to help me move out of my apartment. Including packing, carrying and loading into a truck (would need a reasonably strong person).

I asked Taylor the same question that Laurie just asked, except that I did not phrase my question as clearly as Laurie. (Please see above.) From Taylor’s answer, it seemed that if I bought two sessions I would have to use them both in the same day. I would like to buy a second sesson, likely to use on a different day than the first, and therefore want to be sure that I understand your policy correctly. Could you kindly clear this up for me?

in other words my referrence was to the block of time for 2 sessons… the answer was that the 8 hour block could be divided into the two in which it was purchased and for that special reason (It is wearing to go for 8 hours) you said much later in the day, "Hi Catherine and Joan,

I travel alot so I decided to try this service to help me prepare for a trip. I called to use my Groupon and they were not there so I left a message. I did not get a call back. I followed up and got a person who told me I had to sign some paperwork before they could send someone over. I emailed over the signed pages and never got a call back. Now I am back from my trip and realized that this may have been a bad buy. I think the time it takes to train someone will be the same time I have them for to “help” me. The process to just get the paperwork initiated took time away from my higher priority items. I would like to get a refund on this if possible. I never used the service.
I was sorry to hear of Kathy W.’s experience, but we had quite the opposite experience. Contacted Lambent 2 months ago for 2 assistants for 2 jobs on relatively short notice (Called Wed for Saturday) and received prompt attention, returned calls, great assistants who were just as expected – prompt, helpful – and are looking forward to using the last certificate this month.
I hope Kathy’s experience was an isolated one, but will be sure to post if we have a different/negative experience this time.
I used 4 of my 8 hours the Tuesday before Christmas. I had an assistant (Emily G.) do all my gift wrapping and shipping and run a few errands. She was great and it was a huge burden lifted off me in a very busy week. I’ll be having Emily back soon to help me with some other projects we had discussed, using my 4 remaining hours and probably paying out of pocket for an extra 4. I will say that my initial experience was exactly as Kathy described. I called, left a message and never got a call back the next day. So I called again the following day, close to 5pm, someone did answer this time and advised me about the forms that needed to be filled out. She took my email address and said she’d send me the forms right away, but I still hadn’t received them the next afternoon, so I called again, spoke to someone else and finally had the forms sent. Once I returned the forms that afternoon, everything went very smoothly. I was able to book for the day I wanted and they matched me with someone who was a very good fit, based on my requests. The subsequent follow-up has also been good (since I had asked about the cost of using hours that exceed my Groupon, they knew I wanted to book Emily again soon), Overall, I’m happy with this Groupon, despite the initial mis-steps, which I had written off as being a symptom of them being very busy leading up to the holidays, but maybe that is the norm for them and you’re better off calling back until you get someone on the phone in the middle of the day.
We’ve had mixed results. Bought two 4 hr blocks for myself, and 2 for my husband/daughter. We had two assistants help us in the Fall to re-arrange our living room and work with my daughter to organize her room. Scheduling worked well, assistants were very nice, punctual and helpful.
We just moved into a new apartment and contacted Lambent to arrange for 2 assistants to come help us hang pictures and shelves and were told that, due to liability issues, they were unable to accomodate our request. I’m sorry…but is hanging a picture somehow more labor intensive than moving furniture and piles of books???
Hopefully this can be resolved, but if not, like Kathy W., I would like a refund.
