Commonly Asked Questions

How long is each lesson? And for the 2o pack lessons what should one be able to accomplish by the end?

Paige H. asked 9 months, 14 days, 7 hours, and 3 minutes ago - 1 answer

Sara S.

Hi Paige, Each lesson 60 minute private lesson. What one can accomplish would depend on the rider and how quickly they can learn and balance. They should be able to independently walk, trott and canter. Depending on rider ability, they may get to the beginning steps of jumping. Thanks!

More Questions and Answers

Hi, If I bought 10 lessons, could I share them with my son (he is 11)? I would try to schedule them back to back.

Kira P. asked 9 months, 11 days, 5 hours, and 41 minutes ago - 1 answer

Linda L.

That would be fine as long as we could work the schedule out.

Is there a weight restriction for the rider?

alicia h. asked 9 months, 11 days, 6 hours, and 44 minutes ago - 1 answer

Linda L.

My horses have comfortably carried up to 300lbs. As long as you are fairly balanced and can mount with the assistance of a mounting block you are probably fine to ride.

What is the minimum age for riders interested in lessons? I have a 6 1/2 year old...

Naomi A. asked 9 months, 11 days, 9 hours, and 35 minutes ago - 1 answer

Linda L.

The minimum age is 10 years old. My horses are bigger, and I don't have saddles/helmets etc. that would be appropriate for a little one. I can refer you to some instructors that have ponies and specialize in younger children if you'd like.

If I were to purchase these as gifts for my niece and nephew would They be able to schedule their lessons at the same time? Also I see on your website that you are open Monday threw Saturday are their restrictions as to what days they can schedule lessons on? Saturday would be the easiest day for them, can we schedule appointments on Saturday?

Any chance of getting Western riding lessons?

marcia h. asked 9 months, 12 days, 3 hours, and 58 minutes ago - 1 answer

Linda L.

Hi Marcia, I don't have any formal training in western, but I do have some western gear. I'd be willing to give it a go, but I'm afraid it would basically be english riding in a western saddle.

Are the riding lessons group or private lessons? How long is each lesson, 1 hour? How many school horses do you have? Do we have to use all 10 or 20 lessons before the expiry date in Feb 2013? Thanks!

Julie K. asked 9 months, 14 days, 1 hour, and 19 minutes ago - 1 answer

Sara S.

Hi Julie, The lessons are all private lesson for 60 minutes. We have two full time school horses and others on an as needed basis. You do not have to use the full package by the expiration date, as long as they are coming in on a regular basis. Thanks!

jennifer c. asked 9 months, 14 days, 6 hours, and 40 minutes ago - 1 answer

Sara S.

Hi Jennifer, The schedule does depend on first come first serve. In order to have the best results, we would not want to schedule their lessons together as everyone learns at a different speed and for the safety of the rider. Depending on the schedule, we could schedule them back to back. Thanks!

Sara S. answered 9 months, 12 days, 5 hours, and 43 minutes ago

How long are the lessons, and does it matter how you schedule them, I.e., one per week, etc? I am an older rider and would like to ride late morning or early afternoon.

Jeanie D. asked 9 months, 14 days, 6 hours, and 51 minutes ago - 1 answer

Sara S.

Hi Jeanie, Once per week would be the best schedule, but depending on your schedule you could come every other week. If it starts to be more spread out than that, you would not lean as quickly. Thanks!
