$49 for a Five-Week Waltz Course for Two ($100 Value)

Over the course of five 45-minute group classes, instructor Marlene Woodroff guides couples through the timing and basic steps of the waltz. Students may practice dancing with other partners in their group over the course of the class. Classes are held every Monday night at 7:45 p.m. from February 4 to March 4; students should arrive for each with a pair of clean, non-marking leather or smooth-bottom shoes.

Latinesque Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio

The seasoned dance instructors at the core of Latinesque Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio specialize in working with beginners, teaching simple timing and basic individual steps. Instructors adopt a casual, easygoing approach for private lessons and group classes in which students may switch partners multiple times, much like a cop on the edge with nothing to lose. Instructors train their students in 11 social Latin and American dance styles such as the quick-paced cha cha, sultry Brazilian samba, slow rumba, romantic waltz, and dramatic tango.

The Groupon Guide to: Typing Techniques

In grade schools, children are taught one way to type on a computer keyboard—with their hands and not at all with their tiny, perfectly suited for typing toes. Here are some other typing techniques not taught in America's learning rooms:

Hunt and Peck: One of the slower typing methods, it involves the typist "hunting" for each letter individually and then "pecking" the letter with a long cane.

Touch Typing: The same as the standard typing technique, but instead of touching the keyboard, let the keyboard touch you.

Fast Fingers: Standard typing technique, but a little bit faster.

Fancy Fingers: Pretty much the same as "fast fingers," but a little bit slower, and your fingers dance upon the keys like a dainty woman’s feet upon a wet dance floor.

No Fingers: Just throw a rock at the keyboard until you hit the key you want. If you end up breaking the keyboard, buy a new one and start over with a smaller rock.

I'm so proud of my son. He learned how to type with a cane.
