Eyelashes developed as a defense mechanism against eye lashes, a common ancient punishment performed with a rudimentary eyelash curler made of old swords. Enhance your ocular gatekeepers with today's Groupon at Eyelash Parlor Lavilash on Broadway. Choose between the following options:

  • For $20, you get one Japanese eyelash perm (a $50 value)
  • For $99, you get six Japanese eyelash perms (a $249 value)

Eyelash Parlor Lavilash's owner, Kiki, enhances fluttering follicles with a unique technique derived from her personal experiences touring Japan. The eyelash perm is a safe, healthy way to render morning bouts with an eyelash curler unnecessary while imbuing flickering flirters with a thicker and fuller appearance that lasts up to eight weeks. Bolster the aesthetics of boring lashes without the damaging effects that sometime come with extensions, such as thinning hair patterns and an increased risk of catching lashes in car doors. With 42 varieties of shapers, the hair technicians at Lavilash can customize a curl to accent any face frame, taking into account eye form and lash thickness, crafting curls as brilliant as da Vinci's Donkey Kong skills.

The mild perming cream is imported from Japan and is gentle around the eye area without sacrificing potency. Because the perming cream is not a liquid, it won't leak or touch your skin, nor go into your eyes. After the procedure, which takes up to an hour, permanent curls will survive showering, thorough face washing, and staring down a suitor while swimming.

Not recommended for pregnant women or anyone who has had Lasik eye surgery within the past six months.

Eyelash Parlor Lavilash

Eyelash Parlor Lavilash’s owner, Kiki, found inspiration for the business in her own beauty routine, which she squeezed in between triathlons and martial-arts classes. That was in 2005, and Kiki had already accrued more than six years of experience performing eyelash perms and teaching the technique throughout southeast Asia. Her business plan quickly came into focus. She opened a studio devoted to infusing eyelashes with a curl that lasts four–six weeks through weather and hard wear, dispatching with the need for daily mascara application and damaging mechanical curling or extensions.

The procedure is surprisingly similar to a salon visit. After the mild perm cream coats eyelashes, a silicone roller—chosen from a collection of 42 options—shapes the eyelashes into arcs ranging from demure to diva, and a complimentary collagen treatment conditions each tendril to a high gloss. Kiki works with a team of technicians to safely create new looks and correct unsuccessful perms perpetrated by other salons. She also teaches the method to professional aestheticians and lay folk hoping to streamline their own makeup routine.
