Hi Florence! I'm glad you enjoyed the class! On the calendar, you can only book on the first day of the course, i.e. January 14th, January 15th, etc... since the class started yesterday, it will not allow you to go back in time to book your spot. I will take care of it on my end, and we will see you tomorrow! -Maria : )

I'm not clear on how the classes work. Do you stay in the same class the full semester (i.e. Milano I) or do you move into more advanced classes as the weeks progress?

Hello! Each of our levels, i.e. Napoli I, Milano I, etc... runs for 7 weeks. So, the Espresso encompasses one level, and the Completo option encompasses two consecutive levels.

I wonder: do you test itAlian language level at no charge? And if I should place in your Napoli or Milano levels required for the groupon, what materials are used for the 20 charge? Who might the author be....are they in the form of Workbooks? Photocopies?

Hello! We do not charge for a placement test! We actually have our placement test online via the following link: http://www.learnitalygroup.com/test-your-italian/ The test is 30 multiple choice questions, and should take you no more than 15/20 minutes. It will immediately give you your placement at the end! As for the materials, we use a combination of books, handouts and worksheets. The textbook that students purchase to keep is the Schaum's Outlines of Italian Grammar, 3rd edition. In addition to this book, we use a few other books that students will receive printouts, worksheets and various other pages to use during classes. The total for all of these supplements is $20.

If I don't know any Italian, which class is best? Will I be the only one without any of these language skills in the class? If they speak mostly in Italian in the classroom won't that be harder to learn because I won't understand?

Hello! For someone without any experience with the Italian language, I would recommend our Napoli I, Absolute Beginner's course. It is geared towards students who have no prior knowledge of the language. All of our levels encompass varying degrees of reading, writing, speaking and grammar (even from the very beginning!), and while Italian is predominantly spoken in the classroom, all of our teachers are also fully fluent in English, and will be able to assist students if they are having difficulties understanding any of the words or concepts.
