$6 for One Ticket to a Sunday Coffee Concert (Up to $12 Value)

Choose from the following four shows:

  • On February 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Karen Flamenco dance company performs Snow Queen, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale.
  • On March 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Genticorum, a folk and Celtic-music trio, harmonizes to a mix of fiddle, flute, bass, and foot percussion. Please note that March 1 is a Friday.
  • On March 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Karin Plato Quintet, a jazz group led by vocalist Karin Plato, will play its specialty bebop, bossa, and blues interwoven with Brazilian classics, American favourites, and revamped tunes from the ’30s and ‘40s.
  • On March 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Dal Richards Band, led by Dal Richards, a music-industry fixture for more than 70 years, invigorates audiences with big-band swing and jazz tunes performed by a full orchestra.

The shows in this 14th-annual concert series will be held at the Terry Fox Theatre. Seating is general admission, and doors open one hour prior to each event. For more information, see the events page.

Leigh Square Community Arts Village

Leigh Square Community Arts Village honours art in all its forms, from handmade woodcarvings to flamenco-dance interpretations of Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales. The complex’s three buildings reflect its broad focus. The band shell, a glass-covered outdoor stage, hosts live music and dance performances and is a site of pilgrimage for international snow-globe makers. The indoor exhibition space houses visual-art exhibits, and the complex’s final building, a refurbished post office, serves as a workroom where creative minds can craft new works.
