Questions and Answers
Can you choose the 4 dishes you want to prepare from a list or have they been pre-selected for you for this discount?

Good Morning Leanne,
You can choose from the entire menu of entrees at Let’s Dish! Check out their website for the current menu: http://www.letsdish.com/menus/storemenu.aspx

Is this truly for first time customers only?
i’m a huge fan of let’s dish, but the fine print says that it’s only good for first-time customers only. i’m disappointed that loyal customers aren’t able to take advantage of this great groupon offer.
I’ve been meaning to try Let’s Dish. This is a really good deal!!

Hi Brooke,
Yes, today’s promotion really is just for first time customers. If you’ve already dished with them before, your name will be in their database already and you won’t be able to get this discount.
Best,
Sarah
Well, what a bummer since this is a great deal and a wonderl way to encourage loyal customers to come back in….Oh, well.
What are the dates when I can redeem this? On the website it says:
“Available for redemption 8/25/”
There is no year.
PERFECT timing for the start of the school year. I’ve been meaning to try Let’s Dish and this makes it silly not to now. Thanks for this great offer!
Hi Shereen. I think that’s a typo on the website, and the Groupon folks will fix shortly. Your session can be held any time from 8/25 thru 12/31/2009. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi Shereen,
We are working on getting that date clarified, but what that means is that you will be able to redeem this offer online starting on Tuesday, August 25. You can schedule your session at anytime, for any available date between 8/25/09 and 12/31/09.

I am a long-time customer and I too am disappointed that this offer isn’t for current customers. Even with the sign-in store promotions and survey incentives, there is no reward like this for returning customers.
Hi,
I’m wondering if I need to order and pick up all the food at the same time, or if it can be picked up over 2 visits to Let’s Dish.

Hi Stella,
Yes, you will need to pick up all of your meals in one visit to Let’s Dish! Start eating up all that stuff in your freezer to make room! :)

Can someone clarify the details of the menu? When the menu choice is “Lemon Herb Chicken with Parmesan Green Beans” (for example)…is that considered an entree, or is that an entree plus a side? I’m confused by the fine print that says the deal includes “four family-sized entrées, one dessert, one side…” and “sides limited to $6 value…” Would the entree just be Lemon Herb Chicken, and the green beans are something separate?
Hi Hillary, Good question. Most of our meals include a side. That is, if a side is mentioned in the name of the menu item, and/or in the description (as is the case with Lemon Herb Chicken with Parmesan Green Beans), then the side is included with the entree. At Let’s Dish!, customers can also select additional sides — in this case, you’ll also get one extra side of your choice. We usually have 5 or 6 different options at a time, and you’ll select one of those (usually costing $6) for free, as part of the Groupon offer.
Just curious roughly how much room in a freezer would be needed for the 8 meals for 2/3 people? And just to clarify the above comment. I would need to pick these 8 meals up at one time, I could not pick up a set now and a set in Novemember etc.
Hi – note to our loyal dishers (Amelia, Brooke, etc)… We had to limit this incredible offer to first-time customers, and only thru Groupon. Thought this would be a great way to introduce people to the concept, hence the huge (but limited-time) discount. I wouldn’t expect to see an offer like this again(!).
That said, we truly appreciate the business of our “regulars”, and hope you are receiving our regular email offers, using your DishPoints, etc. OK, they might not be as attractive as 42% off, but we hope you understand why we are limiting this to first-timer dishers. We do love seeing you in our stores each month and pledge to continue offing “great food and great value” for new and returning customers alike. – E
What are the Alexandria store’s hours? What I’m really asking is, can this be done evenings and weekends or does one have to take time off work?
Hi Lesley, Good question. Most of our customers find that when they throw away the half-eaten food that’s been in their freezer since 2005, they have plenty of room to re-stock with fresh meals from Let’s Dish :)
But to answer more specifically, most of our meals come in standard one-gallon Ziploc-type bags. When you “split” the meals (getting 8 with 2-3 servings each), you’ll likely get 8 individual bags. We’ve got lots of different menu items (some with large rolls, others very compact, etc), so your results might vary.
Our staff can show you how to pack these bags tightly (eliminating air pockets, etc), so you should have no problems. Plus, there is always the backup plan of storing overflow meals in the fridge, where they will last for a few days until you have a chance to enjoy them.
What if I signed up with them about 2-3 years ago, but never went? Would I still be considered a first-timer or would I be an existing customer?
Thanks Elizabeth, one other quick question. If you choose the 8 meals for 2/3 people. Are you still just ordering four main dishes (they will just be split into two orders each for easy cooking) or is there an option to try 8 different main menu items. Either way, I am still estatic to try out Let’s Dish – but I want to figure out what I want to order.
Thanks again
Facebook User: I can check the status of your account. Please send your email address to bloggers@letsdish.net and someone will get back with you offline. We should be able to make it work.
Lesley: The Groupon is good for a four-dish session, so you will choose 4 entrees and split each into two portions for 2-3 each. That makes for some tough decisions when looking at our August and September menus! Lots of good stuff :)
Hi Ruth – all stores hold sessions on evenings and weekends. You can find details on our website, but generally speaking you’ll find us open most evenings, most Saturdays and an occasional Sunday. We do our best to cater to busy folks like yourself! – E
Hello! Can I buy two of these coupons and give one to my wife to use?

Hi Joseph,
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to put more than one of these in your shopping cart today, due to the 1 per person limit.
Best,
Sarah

Do you need to order all 8 meals at once (per the $79 groupon offer), or can you order two this month, two next month, and so on?
Hi Sharon, You’ll need to assemble and pick up all your meals and extras at the same time. – E
What about referral credit? I know a couple of people who might finally try Let’s Dish because of this offer – can they say I referred them and will the normal referral credits apply?
Hi Facebook user. Unfortunately this Groupon offer can’t be combined with other discounts or promotions, so we can’t provide referral credit. Still, we thank you for all you do to send new customers our way… dishing with a pal is always more fun anyway :)
Stores have gotten calls re: nutrition info. All ingredients and nutrition info can be found online at letsdish.com. We even have calcs for Weight Watchers POINTS, and substitutions can be made to most meals for those with allergies. Menu changes every month, and you’ll always find a variety of healthy options, as well as great choices for when you want to be, say, a little more indulgent. – E
Is it really hard to understand why this Groupon offer is exclusive to new customers? This is a marketing and business development tool, not loyalty building which seems to be handled through another channel.
I’m really interested in this idea, but not sure we can polish off so many meals in a week or so. How long, on average, do the meals keep frozen, or do some have sooner “use by” dates than others?
Hi Alexandra, no problem. Our meals are good for 60 days in your freezer (if you can stand to wait that long before enjoying them!). – E
Hi, I had a question about using this in another city? I will be going home to Columbus, Ohio in a few weeks and am responsible for cooking meals there for a big group of family. I know you guys have a location there, do you think I could redeem this groupon in Columbus, Ohio?
I know it’s a deal for DC, so this might be a bit of a stretch!!
Thanks and I love “Let’s Dish!” your food is awesome and so convenient!
Oops! I must have been looking at the wrong map! Cancel my question since you don’t have a location in Ohio. Sorry about the mistake!
Hi Elena, Thanks for the kind words. The Groupon is good only for locations in Maryland and Virginia. That said, our food travels very well. My partner Rick even blogged about taking our meals on vacation. Check it out http://tinyurl.com/FLYandDISH. Maybe that solution would work for you? -E
wow. really looking forward to trying it. friends have been recommending for a while. I have to say i’m also really impressed that you’re here answering all these questions on a friday afternoon/evening. Thanks – see you soon!
I’ve had great experiences using Let’s Dish. I’ve been to the Alexandria one and the one in Fairfax for their grand opening. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and there is great attention paid to cleanliness! Once when I didn’t have time to dish myself I ordered the ready to go frozen meals, a nice time saver. I also like how you can take a break and get a snack or a drink during your session.
Thanks for the kind comments, Jennie and Kristen. Look forward to seeing you at the stores. We’ll be sure to have some warm scones baked up for you -E
This is a fantastic deal! I love Let’s Dish…I lost 50 pounds after having a baby by controlling my portions and tracking my calories through my Let’s Dish meals!
My sister always orders let’s dish in a way that is packaged by the staff and she either picks it up or has it delivered. Can I use this Groupon this way as well or do I have to come in and assemble the dishes at your store myself?

Hi Margaret,
You’re right, there are several different options for how you can get your meals at Let’s Dish! including pre-assembled or delivered. However, this Groupon offer is only good for the “In-Store Session” where you actually get your hands dirty and put the meals together yourself.
Best,
Sarah
Love the Let’s Dish deal. Had a baby 8 months ago and did a Let’s Dish night with some girlfriends right before. Without it, we would have starved! My three year old likes the food, too which is a total bonus.

I can’t wait to try this! Is it possible to bring my daughter to help prepare? We also don’t own a microwave. (My husband doesn’t like microwaved food.)Will that be a problem?
I’m a vegetarian. I want to make sure I understand correctly.
It sounds like I would need to get 4 each of the 2 vegetarian options. For September it says “maximum order quantity 2” for the 2 options.
How will that work?
Hi Bridgit, We welcome children 8 and up, so long as they can handle basic rules of hygiene and behavior. Generally, parents and kids have a wonderful time together and kids are so proud of being part of the family’s dinner. Find some details here: http://thedishblog.com/parentkid/. As for microwave, no worries. These are real dinners, not micro meals :). Occasionally we have you microwave a sauce, but there is always the alternative of heating it in a saucepan.
Laura, no problem for you either. The limits on the menu refer to full entrees. So you can order 2 of each veggie entree, and split all 4 of them once at the store. You’ll end up with 4 enchilada dinners (each 2-3 servings) and 4 veggie pockets dinners (again, 2-3 servings each). Note that our calzones can also be made veggie, and the mahi tacos taste fantastic if you substitute black beans for fish (sub available at no extra charge). Lots of good options for vegetarians on our Sept menu. (BTW, October is great for veggies too… our “Loaded Veggie Chili” is brand new, and fantastic; and Pinto Burgers is one of our most-requested meals ever).
Hope to see you both at our stores! -E
hey there, just wondering when we’ll get the coupon. I’m ready to schedule and am not sure how (to be able to use my groupon) thanks!

Hi Jennie,
Look for the coupon in your inbox first thing tomorrow morning. Let’s Dish! needed today to set up your Groupon ID# as a unique coupon code to for their online checkout.
Check in with our customer service team tomorrow at support@groupon.com if you don’t have the Groupon with the instructions in the morning.
-Sarah
The Let’s Dish website order form doesn’t recognize the Groupon number as a real number, either as a “promotional code” or a “gift certificate,” which are the only two options. Am I missing something?

Hi Alisha,
You will enter your code as a “promotional code.” Are you putting GRP before your Groupon number? Make sure to include the dash. The format will be GRPXXXXXX-X. The X’s are your number. Contact support@groupon.com if you are still having trouble.
Best,
Sarah
I tried using my code today. I am upset that I can’t split my meals as promised. You are only able to enter one promotional code, therefore, guests are unable to use the promotional code to obtain 2-3 servings instead of 4. This is not well organized.
Lisa, I just came back from my session. You split the meals at your session. You get 4 meals which have 6 servings each but you do have to choose all 4 meals at once.
Just want to be sure- I can have a friend come with me and she could do the work and I could the other half correct?
I just tried to sign up for a session – made my selections & entered my groupon code. I was told that I had an “outstanding balance” and needed to enter my credit card number. I am reluctant to enter my credit card when I’ve already paid. What gives?
Hi – sorry for the delay in reply messages… we had no idea that the discussion continued! Any future inquiries should contact us directly at bloggers@letsdish.net…
Lisa: Facebook User is correct. Per the instructions on your Groupon, you select 4 meals and split them when at the store.
Elizabeth R: Yes, each registered disher is allowed (but not required) to bring one extra guest to help with the work (aka join the fun)
Donna: I wonder if you might have accidentally added additional meals or sides? You shouldn’t need a credit card (we have had well over 100 people redeem the Groupon so far, and none has been charged). Suggest trying again and being sure you select 4 meals and no add-ons. If it is still trying to charge you, please email bloggers@letsdish.net and we will troubleshoot for you. Apologies for the inconvenience…
I am just getting around to planning my visit to Lets Dish and I would like to know if the salmon on the November menu is wild or farm raised.
Thank you for your time and attention to this query,
Josie
Hi Josie – It’s farm raised salmon. -E
thank you

Hi everyone, thanks for checking out Let’s Dish!. We’ve already gotten some questions in calls to our stores, so I thought I would answer them here. This Groupon is valid at any of our Virginia and Maryland locations (Alexandria, VA is most convenient for residents of the District; Columbia for Montgomery County, etc). Each of the four main dishes serves 4-6 people, or you can “split” the dishes (some or all) to serve 2-3 each. Either way, you get 24 servings of dinner, plus 1 family dessert and 1 family side, and an order of our signature scones. We’ll be online all day and most of the weekend, so feel free to post questions, or call our stores. – E
