Since Kathy Cary began crafting her seasonal, Southern-inspired cuisine in 1988, she’s been lauded as a “farm-to-table pioneer” by Southern Living and a “cooking legend” by Style Blueprint. Decades later, she remains the driving culinary force behind Lilly’s — A Kentucky Bistro, upholding the restaurant’s high standards by personally designing menus, ordering ingredients, and working in the kitchen throughout each week. Today’s Reserve selection invites you to experience the artistry of this beloved Louisville chef with a three-course, prix-fixe dinner for two or four. The dinner includes the following:
- Choice of soup or salad per person
- Choice of seafood, beef, or vegetarian entrée per person
- One dessert per person
With fried chicken thighs, creole-rubbed lamb loin, and sautéed gulf shrimp with grit cake among its common offerings, there’s no question that Lilly’s is, first and foremost, a haven for Southern-inspired cuisine. Locally sourced vegetables, free-range and Kentucky Proud beef, and artisan cheeses drive the menu, blending together the sharp and savory flavors of Kentucky tradition. However, Chef Cary doesn’t restrict herself to Bluegrass fare. This past January, upon returning from a trip, she whipped up a five-course Argentine wine dinner to rave reviews.
To complement its thoughtful cuisine, Lilly’s maintains a well-rounded wine list, a cocktail menu, and a selection of bourbons that is impressive even for a restaurant in the heart of bourbon country. Guests can find a table inside the soft-lit dining room with earth-toned walls and linen-swathed tables, or they can head out to the patio, where the surroundings are even more earth-toned.
