Lips' menu unrolls a freshly furled spread of Asian-fusion fare, authentic Japanese cuisine, and colorful sushi. The house-special maki, Godzilla, stomps empty stomachs with two shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese, masago, green onion, and spicy sauce ($14) and exotic salads such as Tako Sue––fresh octopus, cucumber, seaweed salad, and house ponzu dressing ($6)––keep hunger entwined in their leafy tendrils. Meaty East-meets-West fusion entrees include salmon teriyaki ($16) and chilean sea bass served with blanched spinach and chili-garlic-cream sauce ($19). Sweet teeth will scream for sushi-shaped ice cream and esophaguses will go gaga over a full bar with premium sake, wine, and special cocktails. Diners may also bring their own wine and copy of Rodney Dangerfield's autobiography to the table.

Lips' décor sizzles nearly as loudly as its plates. The dining room has magenta walls and deep, wooded seating. Playful photos of giant mouths allow customers to imagine the near-impossible art of brushing teeth and eating simultaneously.
