Local’s Eatery & Refuge

Each time one of the cooks at Local’s Eatery & Refuge tosses a ground-chuck patty on the flattop grill, a wild hissing sound erupts in the kitchen. Though it can be jarring, it’s music to the cooks’ ears because it’s audible proof of a freshly cooked meal. The kitchen staff extends this cooking technique to other menu items, too, such as wings that are slathered in one of eight housemade sauces or baby back ribs that are seasoned by hand. And despite its name, some of Local’s entrees have worldly roots, specifically the pizzas and the tikka masala, fish 'n' chips, Cajun chicken, and broccoli stir-fry dishes. Diners can feast on these dishes while enjoying Local’s big-screen TVs and mix of vintage and modern cocktails.
