Commonly Asked Questions

What type of digital camera is required for the class?

Virginia S. asked 8 months, 19 days, 9 hours, and 1 minute ago - 1 answer

Liz S.

All you need is a DSLR or at least a point and shoot that allows you to manually set your settings. We do offer "loaner" Canon Rebels at a first come first serve basis if you need to borrow one of ours.

My daughter turns 18 on Thursday, and she is interested in photography. She has the right type camera for the class, but I am needing to know what the date is before I sign her up so I can make sure she will be available that day. It sounds like something she would really enjoy, and also a nice birthday present for her.

If the weather forecast calls for rain, will you allow someone to cancel / reschedule for another date/time if it is at least 24 hours before the class is scheduled? What happens if unexpected bad weather occurs during the class?

Dave asked 8 months, 17 days, 5 hours, and 9 minutes ago - 1 answer

Liz S.

Yes, you can always re-schedule if you think it is going to rain. If it starts raining during the class we will allow students to re-schedule for another day and time.

Unfortunately, we are unable to release any information regarding when they may be featured again. However, since we offer new deals every day, there's a chance you'll see something else you like soon!

The Nikon 1 just came out recently. I have already bought the groupon. If it does not have manual setting can I get my money back? The camera is listed on Nikon's website.

Susan M. asked 8 months, 18 days, and 54 minutes ago - 1 answer

Liz S.

According to the web the Nikon 1 does have a manual setting. We also have loaner Canon Rebels you are welcome to use. They are available on a first come first serve basis.

I have a question about the location of the class. I have some physical limitations. Is there a lot of hiking on unsteady ground involved in the class?

Marcy C. asked 8 months, 18 days, 6 hours, and 29 minutes ago - 1 answer

Liz S.

There is a little walking but we do drive from location to location as it was farther than we originally thought. Most places are flat unless you choose to go down to the fossil beds. The fossil bed is part of the class but can be optional.

Liz S. answered 8 months, 18 days, 8 hours, and 11 minutes ago

I live in Bowling Green, so I was wondering about how far of a drive it would be for me. Also, I was wondering what the times would be for the class.
