Is it not valid on the weekends?
They are not open on weekends.
so you can only use the groupon if you purchase 50 dollars of catering?
It is only good for catering orders? Did I read that right?
Only valid on catering orders above $50? That’s a pretty major caveat to slip into the fine print.
I assume it means “If you want to use the $15 on catering, you have to order at least $50 first”.

Hey Everyone,
Sorry for the confusion. The Groupon is valid for both the restaurant and for catering orders above $50.
Bob from Groupon
Can I buy more than one groupon for myself?
I still don’t understand. So can I spend just 15 dollars if it isn’t a catering order?
Yes, Christina. You can just spend $15. Read the print!
Do you have to use the value of the coupon in one sitting? Since it’s worth $15, if I buy a $7 sandwich, can I come back another day to use the remaining $8?
Nany, I’m pretty sure none of the remaining balance carries over to the next visit. But I could be wrong…

I’m assuming it’s all in one sitting. Only makes sense but I’m sure they can accommodate if asked.
whether or not the remaining balance rolls over is an important issue. it is the issue that is holding me back from purchasing this groupon. please let us know asap.
I have yet to see a groupon that carries over. It shouldnt be hard to spend the $15 if you bring someone along. Or if you’re feeling extra generous, you could give the extra sandwich to some homeless guy!
Hi guys, Rich Levy here – partner at Lunch Rolls.. Thanks to all who participated in this Groupon. We really appreciate it and cant wait to show you how proud we are of our restaurant! To answer your questions.. Balances DO NOT carry over. You must use up all $15 in your visit. Groupon is valid on Dine In and Carry Out and ALSO valid on catering orders that are over $50. In other words if your catering order is $100 – you get a $15 discount and only pay $85. email me at rgl1219@hotmail.com with questions and comments. Thanks!
is it just one extra side order if you order before 11:30 of one with each sandwich you order
Tried to use the Lunch Roll coupon today & the sign says (as does their website) CLOSED TIL 2010 The coupon says GOOD TIL 12/7/2009 What can I do? Will they honor it? When did they close? Please help A Groupon Fan T
I am encountering the same problem with them being closed till 2010. It says that on their website also.
Groupon, please let us know if they will honor it next year.
I sent an email to Rich Levy at Lunch Rolls asking if the groupons will be honored after it reopens. I’ll let you know what I hear back.
Same issue here. If we’re not going to get to use it, please let us know if we get our money back.
I actually went to their place on monday, there was a sign on the door that said closed for the holidays, uggh. good thing I checked, was about to head out again, I thought they meant the thanksgiving weekend, not literally the all the holidays until next year.
and did anyone tried calling the number, there is an interesting paradox when I did, first it told me that when calling outside the 312 area I need to dial one first, dunno why, but I dialed 1, then it told me that when calling within the 312 area I just need to dial the 7 digit number, I dial the 7 digit number hoping that for some miracle it changed… and nop.
this is so frustrating, I am hungry and a college student (thus inherently broke), and that is the most accessible place for which I have a groupon for atm, I will probably need the money back unless they are willing to honor the groupon for a few extra months after they re-open.
Rich Levy, owner of Lunch Rolls, promptly returned my email. He informed me that he was not sure when Lunch Roll was going to reopen because it is restrategizing. He told me that I could use my Groupons (I bought two) at Salad Spinners — another restaurant that he owns — until December 7. I think that’s a totally fair deal.
I would recommend that those people who still haven’t used their groupons email him at richlevy@lunchrolls.com as I have not seen a broader announcement from Groupon. I plan on taking my email into salad spinners in case the staff don’t know why I am bringing in some random groupons from a different restaurant.
At the end of the day, it’s five bucks and Levy has made a more than reasonable effort to accommodate my request.
Rich Levy at Lunch Rolls replied & said Salad Spinner his other eatery in the Loop would honor til expiration
ugh…. I cannot go to the other eatery anymore, the last two days that fit in my schedule was on monday which I wasted my time getting there, and today, seems like I will have to let this one expire because that other place closes at 3:25 pm…
I am not satisfied by this.
I just got an e-mail from the owner saying that they closed lunch rolls last week… but they will honor the groupon until the expiration date at salad spinners…
I would just like to get my money back. It just doesn’t sit well with me that they closed – perhaps that’s why the Groupon had such a short expiration date.
It should at least be an option granted to us by Groupon – if the business closes or significantly changes, you get your choice of money back or an alternative.
Dear Grouponers,
I am really sorry that we had to close Lunch Rolls last week. It was not our intention to do so when we originally put out this offer. We do have the list of those who have already claimed their groupons at Salad Spinners. Therefore, if you have not used your yet. ..please come into my other restaurant Salad Spinners until Dec 7th. Located at Wells and Monroe and we will honor any and all outstanding groupons. I hope that is a satisfactory solution for those who have yet to claim their Groupon.
Thanks
Rich Levy
Salad Spinners
Hi Rich
It isn’t a satisfactory solution for me because I’m not interested in SaladSpinners, and would rather either have my money back or $5 towards a future Groupon.
To Groupon: While I appreciate hearing from Rich Levy, you really need to have a plan for how to deal with these situations and not leave it up to the discussion forums to figure it out. It was nice getting an email to remind me to use the Groupon. Now where’s the email explaining what our options are for the paid-for service not being deliverable?
And while I get the fact that “it’s on $5”, I’m concerned that this is something for which there should be a policy in place and ready-to-go whether it’s $5 today or $99 tomorrow.
Hi, Rich. Gary here from Groupon Customer Support. In the rare and unfortunate instance that one of our featured businesses closes, our policy is to whenever possible notify those who have not redeemed theirs and offer full refunds. I’ve very sorry that you did not receive a notice. Just e-mail us at support@groupon.com and we’ll be happy to either refund you or credit your account!
We wanted to use this Groupon but found that the restaurant Lunch Rolls was closed down for renovations.
