M Team Fencing So Cal
Greg Massialas, the head coach and director at M Team Fencing So Cal, brings an impressive resumé brimming with the highest achievements in the sport. From beginners to pros, every student he works with gets training from a fencer who competed in the 1980, 1984, and 1988 Olympics, attained the No. 1 ranking for foil fencing in the United States, and coached members of the US Olympic, World Championship, and Pan American teams. Greg’s commitment to success pervades the club, extending to fellow instructors Heik Hambarzumian and Doris Willette. It's is particularly palpable in the Youth Champions program. By sharpening the minds and bodies of young competitors and fostering a sense of discipline and teamwork, the program aims to groom the next wave of fencing champions or musketeers. Given this mission, the stellar track record comes as little surprise: past graduates have succeeded at the NCAA, National, and Olympic levels, and at the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing, the club’s top fencer became the youngest to ever represent Team USA.
