Great Groupon, but I don’t like the narrow expiration window. I forgot about the last one and it expired worthless a couple of months ago.
Yea, I got this one a few months back and it wasn’t really worth it. The food is way over priced. It basically like a cafeteria and they charge $20 per person, with the groupon it comes out to $15. The food is descent, just over priced.
I’ve only been for lunch, and love it. What are you talking about when you say it’s $20/person, Tobias?
Dont understand from the menu can you order sandwiches and other things from the day menu or only dinner menu at this time of night
I am not sure if the store will accept it or not if I just change the font size. I would hope so with the being understanding. and regardless of economy.
Can this groupon be used at the airport location?
Everything except the lunch specials are available for Dinner at Manny’s. That includes sandwiches, soups & salads.
Since it’s cafeteria style, you pretty much get to pick and choose your food choices. And, as a vegetarian, this came in handy. The $22 got me a bunch of sides, deserts, and a Guinness last time.
It’s a pretty good deal if you don’t get one of their mains which are almost $10 by themselves.
The food is really good at Manny’s I give them that. I did face a few problems though. If you buy this note bene that you cannot take your food to go, if you order a couple of sandwiches in hopes that you get to take one to go, even though the price of the sandwiches are more then covered by the groupon they will charge you for the sandwich that you try to take to go even if you are taking to go because you could not finish it. (at least that is what I understood from the signs that they decided to post on the door for people using groupons)
They also serve some pretty large portions so, this might be best if you plan to go along with someone else.
My idea was that I would be going out to a eat at a better place and lower the cost of dining by having lunch and dinner basically covered, I ended up paying a lot more then I expected because tax is not included, and ended up having to throw a lot of food away because I could not take it with me so… it does become very expensive if you go by yourself.
Also note the short lenght of time before the groupon expires and the number of people that will be purchasing, it basically translates to lines that will go out of the door the last several days as people are trying to use the groupon and not let it expire.
Manny’s is a great jewish old school deli in chicago. Yes, it is somewhat $$ but have you seen how much corned beef / brisket / pastrami goes onto their sammys?!!!
Mannys Corned beef is the best in chicago!
After reading the comments, I’m considering canceling my Groupon. I shouldn’t have to pay extra for food that I can’t consume and it would be most shameful to throw out perfectly good food.
How the heck do you cancel a thread subscription….particularly this one? Can’t find an “unsubscribe” button.
I could click Contact Us in the lower right corner of the screen and request that they cancel my Groupon. I’m going to wait a little while longer though.
If you dine in, but can’t finish, can you take, say, 1/2 a sandwich home?
I hope that someone from Groupon or even Manny’s wanders into this thread soon.

The Groupon today is designed for people to dine at Manny’s, not for carryout. Manny’s has no problem with anybody taking their leftovers home with them.

If you do not use the whole $22.00 or have 2 coupons, will you get to use the balance at a later date or must you use the the whole amount at time of purchase or loss your blanace.
Please clarify: the deal is good for 1 person who has to buy at least $22 worth of food to max out the deal, or can 2 people share the same coupon at the same table or would that require 2 coupons or seated separately? Thanks for making it clear.
Good question, Mr. Mike. Isn’t it a sad state of our country that we need a lawyer to sort out the terms for an $11 coupon? There is little good faith on any side anymore. All sides are to blame.

YES YOU CAN USE A GROUPON FOR MULTIPE PEOPLE. ALL $22 MUST BE SPENT THERE IS NO BALANCE TO BE USED ON A LATER DATE.
Can you use more than one Groupon Coupon at one time — if 3 of us go to dinner can we pay with two Groupon Coupon’s ($44)?

I won’t purchase food from any restaurant that charges extra for carry out service just because I can’t finish my meal. I also refuse to toss out perfectly good food.
My questions were answered by Robert and Dan hours ago and I thank them for clearing up the questions about today’s Groupon. Nuff said!!!

We went last night to redeem our Groupon. Warning to those who are looking for sammys: Most of the cold sammys are not available at night. Also, we were told we weren’t eligible for the $5 coupon because we didn’t fill out a form with our name/address/email addy. I suppose we could have lied, but it felt very smarmy to make the $5 conditional on giving out private info. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth… no pun intended.

The expiration date for the Manny’s Groupon was originally January 13. Because Manny’s will be closed this Saturday for dinner (January 9), they have extended the expiration until Saturday, January 16th. Thus, you have an extra few days to redeem!

I used mine last night – the perfect dinner for a January evening! They checked me off a list of Groupons and it looked like there were LOTS of people who haven’t used their groupons yet….don’t miss out!
Anyone else notice that they’re closing at 5pm on a Saturday for a “private party” the same weekend the Groupon (which can only be used after 4pm) is expiring? I used mine on Wednesday, Jan. 13th to treat a good friend who I haven’t seen in years. There were several diners enjoying good food and a great time. I spent more than the face value of the Groupon (about $14.00 more). I gave my $5.00 coupon to my friend

My wife and I used our Groupon at Manny’s last night, even though we were informed that the offer had been extended to 1-16-2010. We enjoyed a great meal. My wife will probably have two more meals from the leftovers she saved on her brisket dinner with real mashed potatoes and a vegetable. I had the corned beef sandwich. I have enjoyed many lunches at Manny’s, but dinner was even better. Using the Groupon was made very easy by the staff, and all of the staff was extremely friendly. This was a fabulous deal!! We will return to Manny’s for dinner again even without the discount.

Dissapointed in Manny’s – I finally get a chance to use my groupon this weekend and the cashier told me that the coupon wouldn’t be honored until after 4:00 – Yes, those are the terms, and they can “choose” not to honor them, however now I can “choose” not to honor them with my business at lunchtime anymore – I told the cashier to give my groupon to the homeless as I couldn’t use it. fool me once with CRAPPY TERMS, shame on me, Manny’s won’t be fooling me again for a long time – if ever.
Bob, every time Manny’s does a Groupon, the first thing they state is that it’s for dinner only (4-8pm). Manny’s is more than crowded enough for lunch as it is. If this Groupon were good during lunchtime, do you realize how long the lines would be? You’d probably never be able to get in.
The only reason they do this is to increase their dinner business and get people accustomed to going there after 4pm. It may be “crappy terms”, but they didn’t fool you; you just weren’t paying attention. That’s not their fault.
Dear Groupon. I know I keep repeating myself, but I am not sure if you guys see it.
Can you make the groupon print out smaller? Like credit card size.
I am taking my GFIP (girl-friend-in-progress) out, and she may think I am a bit weird when I pay with an A4 size piece of paper. Thank you.l
