Maryland Agricultural Resource Council
The Maryland Agricultural Resource Council works to keep farming communities flourishing. Efforts focus on supporting current growers and encouraging future farmers through seminars, activities, and educational programs. In addition to assisting more than 700 local agricultural enterprises, the group organizes events such as the annual Family Farm Day, which features agricultural demonstrations, fox hounds, large draft horses, and a farmers' market amid live bands and games. The event also offers unique activities that include barrel racing, sheep shearing, pumpkin painting, tractor rides, a hay maze, and an alpaca agility course. Appetite-inducing food and beer, as well as Maryland-made goods from local farmers, are also available for purchase.
