Questions and Answers

Hi Andrea!
I work for Dr. McGee, and we appreciate your questions! The deal includes the clinical exam in addition to the custom trays and whitening solution. The whitening process varies for every individual and is dependent upon your age, starting shade and the current condition of your teeth. Results are usually seen after the first application. Maximum results generally occur when the process is continued for 10-14 days.
Let us know if we can help any further!

Does this procedure work on veneers?
Hi Nikki! What are Dr. McGee’s business hours and availability like? I would love to purchase this as I am getting married within the next four months, but would like some reassurance that I could get in for an appointment.
Thanks!

Also check out this Q&A that Dr. McGee did on the Faithful Provisions blog this week!

Hi Amanda!
Veeners are typically made of porcelain and thus will not whiten as your natural teeth will. The same goes for any restoration you might have such as fillings or crowns.
Natosha,
Dr. McGee’s office hours are Monday – Thursday from 8am – 5pm by appointment. I would be able to get you in as early as next week to make sure you are able to start the whitening process before your wedding!

SO, do you actually have the whitening process there at the office, or is this something you take home and do?

Lynn,
By whitening process I’m assuming you mean the Zoom Laser Whitening? If that is so, the answer is no, we do not provide laser whitening. That service typically runs anywhere from $500-$700 and the side affects are far more intense. Dr. McGee does not see desired results with laser whitening like he does with the take home trays and solution. Even with the laser whitening, you have to take home a “touch up kit” to achieve desired results.
Hope that answers your question!

Any other costs we should be aware of or will $99 cover all costs associated with whitening?

Absolutely, the $99 covers it all! There are no hidden fees, and you pay the $99 directly to Groupon – so no payment needs to be made to our office.

So just to clarify… this deal includes enough trays/solution to last for the desired 10-14 day period? No additional charges?

If you are using the product correctly, there is more than enough solution to last the 10-14 day period. The $99 includes the clinical exam and instructions here at our office. You will only be using one set of trays, 1 upper and 1 lower, and they are custom-made to fit your teeth.

Can you tell me how much a cleaning would be at your office if I also wanted to get that done the day of my whitening exam? I guess it would be a new patient exam since I have never been to your office before. I do not have dental insurance. Thanks!!

Amy, I would love to help you with that! Why don’t you give the office a call today at your convenience, I will be here until 5pm. There are some questions I would need answered regarding your specific health history that I would like to keep private and not posted on this discussion board. Once I know that information, I would be able to let you know!
Thanks,
Nikki

How long does the whitening usually last after the process is complete?

The teeth will always be lighter than they once were; however, some patients may need a tooth whitening “touch up” for 1-2 days, once or twice a year.
In order to maintain the whitest tooth shade possible, it is best to avoid substances like coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco.
Do I need to come back to pick up the trays?

Lisa,
Yes. Impressions will be taken at your appointment time and the material will need to “set up” before we can make your custom trays. This usually takes a minimum of 4-5 hours. For instance, if we took your impressions in the morning, your trays will be ready later that afternoon.

Nikki,
Hi there. I am interested in this deal, I am also getting married but in a year. I went to your website but didnt see any before and after pics of patients who have had the whitening treatment. We are on a budget and it would be nice to see some results before investing. Any help advice or reassurance would be appreciated! thanks!
Do you have a minimum age requirement to do this? My 14 year old just got her braces off and would like to do this once, is it safe for her?

Nikki – I got custom trays before my weddding, and they worked great. I was really happy I did it. My sister is getting married in the fall and she has been using them too. They really make a huge difference and I think are worth the investment.

What does this include besides the trays and the whitening tubes? How long is this process for using the trays? What occurs during the exam?
Thank you!
