A smoking jacket implies one of two things: refinement or impending flammability. Douse smoldering shirts with firewater with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a Tour of Scotland whiskey-tasting flight at Beekman Bar and Books and an after-drinks cigar at Max's Tobacco Shop, located in the back of Beekman Bar and Books (a $52 value).

The smoke sommeliers at Max's Tobacco Shop pair fine cigars, cigarettes, and pipe tobacco with Beekman's expansive menu of whiskeys, all served in an upscale ambiance. The Tour of Scotland tasting flight (a $35 value) begins in the Highlands with samples of Macallan 12-year and Glenmorangie Original before taking tongues to the Lowlands with the Glenkinchie 12-year. Ardbeg 10-year represents the isle of Islay, and Talisker 10-year sails in from the islands with a Springbank 15-year stowaway that hails from Campbeltown.

The included Bar and Books Robusto cigar (a $17 value) is a full-bodied smoke that harbors a spicy taste within its Nicaraguan wrapper, and it can be puffed on the tobacco shop's luxurious premises or taken to go. The sitting room in Max's Tobacco Shop provides an elegant environment in which to savor smoky sensations, boasting leather seating, glossy, hardwood surfaces, atmospheric lighting, and a conspicuous lack of clumsy monkey butlers.
