Mecca Live Studio & Gallery

A welcoming space for groups throughout the community, Mecca Live Studio & Gallery houses more than mere dance classes. When not filled with students and instructors learning the art of belly dancing, flamenco, or ancient hula, the grounds play host to the pomp-filled practice sessions of the March Madness Marching Band. Nationally recognized belly-dance performance company Rakadu also calls Mecca home, as does Hallwa, the performance company's musical counterpart. The studio’s dance instructors also stay busy outside of class. When not teaching beginner through advanced overviews of timeless Terpsichorean arts, they also collaborate with local artists and community groups on events ranging from theater productions and annual parades to the tango portion of local political debates.
