Catch three acts of indie pop-rock ear candy for 10 bucks when Peter Bjorn and John, El Perro Del Mar, and Yourself and the Air take the stage at the Metro on Thursday, November 12. Tickets are normally $20, the show starts at 9 p.m. (doors open at 8 p.m.), and you must be 18 or over to get in.

Swedish rockers Peter Bjorn and John are best known for their infectious, whistle-tinged single “Young Folks” from 2006. They’re back with Living Thing, their 2009 album, which has garnered critical praise.

Fellow Swede Sarah Assbring, aka El Perro Del Mar, brings a unique brand of retro-pop that would be right at home as the backing track to an iPod commercial. Pitchfork gave her latest album a 7.8, an effusive rating from the notoriously critical music site.

Chicago act Yourself and the Air opens, playing a mash of angular and emotional indie rock, which you can stream here. Don’t miss their act by showing up at “headliner o’clock”—this local group makes showing up when doors open well worth it.

With this Groupon, catch three great performers at one great venue for half price. It’s just like seeing six bands at two venues for three-quarters price, but less confusing.

Pop Damage thoroughly enjoyed one of Peter Bjorn and John’s recent shows:

  • This concert exceeded my overall expectations. With their fun pop tunes, I had a great time listening and dancing. This has to be one of my favorite shows of 2009. – Ming Wu

For those unfamiliar with El Perro Del Mar, Stereogum offers some insight:

  • Between the sad and the shimmy, everything about El Perro Del Mar clicks. – Stereogum

Citysearchers give the Metro 3.5 stars:

  • For bigger name indie bands and the like, the Metro has great sound and ample places to situate yourself for a good view. – DylanSiegler
