$10 for $20 Worth of Casual American Food and Drinks

The lunch and dinner menu includes appetizers such as steamed mussels in white-wine sauce with garlic and dill ($9.90) and entrees of roasted half chicken with double-garlic sauce, mashed potatoes, and fresh veggies ($14.90). Before desserts of sour-cream apple pie ($4.50), whole one-pound catfish are deboned for guests tableside and served with coleslaw, lemon tartar sauce, and hand-cut fries ($14.90).

Michael Forbes Bar & Grille

Culling inspiration from the original Michael Forbes Grill—a popular dining destination open from 1985 to 1999—the new Michael Forbes Bar & Grille makes guests feel at home with its cozy and casual vibe. Owner Forbes Cross and his son Matt Cross, who helms the kitchen, have forged an accessible menu of gourmet American fare, from fried catfish that's deboned tableside to baby-back ribs that are smoked in-house but away from the smoke alarms. At the granite-top bar, barkeepers pour an impressive selection of red, white, and sparkling wines, while servers saunter to cozy booths decorated by black-and-white framed photos of double rainbows over Kansas City.

The Groupon Guide to: Getting the Couch through the Doorway

They would never make a couch so big that it couldn't fit through any size of doorway. If you ever wanna sit down to watch TV, you're gonna have to do the following first:

  • Turn it right.
  • No, that was a question. "Turn it, right?"
  • Try to shove your head through it. For leverage.
  • Take the cushions off.
  • See if that lady will hold the cushions so they don't get dirty.
  • What are those purple and black stains under the cushions?
  • Tell her it will only take a second and that we would do it for her.
  • Those stains look like a scary code.
  • Line it up so that the armrest is parallel with the huge gash we just put in the wall.
  • Take the cushions back from Mrs. Princess. She obviously has better things to do.
  • Hold on, I think my fingers fell asleep.
  • Yup.
  • Think outside the box. What if we moved the doorway around the couch?
  • I can't believe we got this for free from the back of that open moving truck.
  • Throw the cushions down the stairs so the lady knows we're mad at her.
  • Let's take a break and drink these milks my friend hooked us up with.

Can you really get a couch through a doorway in 15 simple steps?
