  • $3,299 for a dental-implant package for two teeth (an $8,000 value)

The dentist evaluates, x-rays, and cleans the teeth to prepare for the surgery. He then attaches an abutment to the bone, crafts a crown to match the surrounding teeth, and attaches the crown to the abutment.

Michael Koyfman, DMD

Since attaining a fellowship in implantology, Michael Koyfman, DMD, has been a player in the evolution of restoration dentistry. He reinforces every patient's smile with hundreds of hours of continuing education and clinical research through the Dental Practice-Based Research Network. Dr. Koyfman offers patients several variations on traditional implants and wind-up dentures: the CEREC procedure eschews tooth impressions for fast, 3-D imaging, and the all-on-four procedure accomplishes full-arch restorations with four implants instead of the customary eight. Dr. Koyfman also pushes the boundaries of dental techniques by using a CT scan, which allows him to make more accurate measurements and provide better treatments for his clients.

Dr. Koyfman's practice is versatile. Looking beyond crowns and abutments, he and his staff oversee orthodontic services, such as Invisalign aligners, as well as cosmetic services, such as Zoom teeth whitening.

The Groupon Guide to: Things That Are Safe or Not Safe to Put in Your Mouth

Everything looks delicious these days, but only some things are actually safe to put in your mouth. Here's a guide to things that look good enough to eat:

Marbles: Safe
Reason: Rubbing marbles against your teeth will wear them down to rounded nubs that feel much better against the tongue.

Sponge: Not Safe
Reason: You'll put a nice, dry sponge in there, and when it comes out it's going to be full of saliva and completely unsanitary to wash dishes with.

Laundry-Detergent Pods: Not Safe
Reason: This yummy candy burns the mouth.

Universal Remote: Safe
Reason: Thousands of uniquely flavored buttons will make your taste buds feel like they’re at the greatest circus of their lives.

Bread: Not Safe
Reason: The worst hazard of them all—there is no way to breathe through bread.

Are there any foods that don't pose an immediate choking hazard?
