This concert was very good. Way exceeded my expectations. I've seen KISS many times, and thought this would be same format. It was not, it was Gene totally unhearsed. He played songs he hasn't played in decades, forgot some lyrics (so fun! Gene went with it), and of course played the classics. Great crowd at the Agora, and they appreciated the mixed set, as well. Very entertaining.

Gathering of artists, writers, and fans with Eisner Award nominees, complete with autograph and photo ops, costumes and merchandise

Comic conventions, like political conventions, are places where groups of like-minded enthusiasts gather for pageantry and the revelation of a superhero to save modern times. Commune with society's saviors with this Groupon: for $10, you get one adult ticket to the Mid-Ohio Comic Con at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Sunday, September 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (up to a $35 value).

Mid-Ohio Comic Con coaxes international artists, writers, and celebrities into the Greater Columbus Convention Center, creating a superpowered carnival atmosphere. Comic-con guests can dress up in comic- or movie-themed costumes as elaborate as Rube Goldberg's lamest excuse while they circulate the convention center to collect autographs, merchandise, and photos with fellow enthusiasts. Attendees can also wander the pavilion's floor and meet their film and comic-book idols face-to-face, asking penetrating questions about their artistic processes, favorite projects, and availability to join a vigilante crackdown on line cutters.

The program features a multitude of guests, including Stan Lee, the comic-book godfather known for creating many of Marvel’s legendary characters, from Spider-Man to Daredevil to the X-Men. Norman Reedus, most famous for his role as Daryl Dixon on the AMC adaptation of The Walking Dead, will also be in attendance, as will his fellow Boondock Saints alumni Sean Patrick Flanery and David Della Rocco. Eisner Award Hall of Famer Neal Adams will be on hand to deliver custom sketches and cape safety tips to fans. As a Detective Comics illustrator, he collaborated with writers Frank Robbins and Denny O’Neil in the '70s to create the Batman villains Man-Bat and Ra’s al Ghul, respectively.
