Choose Between Two Options

Guides take groups to their favourite riverside fishing spots in Kejimkujik National Park for one full day of group fly-fishing. During the trip, they answer specific questions and provide technical advice suited to participants' interests. A riverside lunch is included, and fishing licenses and gear are available for an additional fee.

The two-day course begins with fly-fishing instruction in the lodge and at the riverside. Wielding a temporary fishing license, students can test the skills they've learned in hands-on fishing practice. A riverside lunch and all gear are included both days. Though lodging is not included with this Groupon, customers who purchase the one-day option receive a $25 credit toward cabin rental; those who purchase the two-day option receive a $50 credit toward cabin rental.

Milford House

Around the turn of the 20th century, a storm over southeast Nova Scotia forced a group of travelling sportsmen to seek shelter at the Thomas house. They loved the spot so much that when they left, they urged the patriarch, Abraham Thomas, to build a lakeside cabin in which they could stay upon their return. By 1902, he'd constructed the first two cabins, and many more followed. Eventually, the unassuming Thomas house became a popular stop and the name was changed to Milford House, officially becoming a wilderness resort.

Today, the original Victorian-style country farmhouse serves as the Milford House lodge, where guests gather for home-cooked meals, free WiFi, and a peaceful respite from daily life and all the bears outside selling newspapers. Within walking distance, 28 rustic log cabins line the shores of Geier Lake and Boot Lake. Inside each, guests enjoy wood-burning fireplaces and plumbing; outside, they take in views of the lake from full porches and private docks. Many of the historic cabins still contain mementos of summers past, such as dip nets, old stools, and antique coat hooks. The rustic complex's location amid dense forest and plentiful rivers and lakes allows guides to lead multiple-day canoe trips on local waters, and up to two-day fly-fishing excursions through Kejimkujik National Park. The resort also maintains four main trails that wind through the woods and lead to canoes docked at nearby bodies of water.
