Mississauga Family Fitness

At Mississauga Family Fitness, the staff augments their facility's overwhelming roster of premium amenities with the friendliness of a local gym. They've outfitted their 100+ cardio machines—including treadmills, ellipticals, and recumbent bikes—with TV monitors that play TV shows or motivational DVDs of dangling carrots. Personal trainers help individuals make sense of the strength training equipment and free weights. Otherwise, members drop into group fitness classes including Zumba, Body Sculpt, belly dance, and spinning. In the boxing studio, heavy bags and speed bags await body-chop massages that ready fists for flying inside a professional-size ring. To round out wellness, the weight-loss centre and health centre put members in touch with professional advice.

Parents can drop their young ones off at the child-minding centre and keep an eye on them during workouts using the baby-cams that stream on monitors throughout the gym. Kids 8–17 years old form healthy habits in the Play Zone Interactive Youth Fitness area, stocked with Sony PlayStation dance pads and game bikes. In the aquatic centre, they zoom down the waterslide in the kids' pool while their parents do laps in a six-lane, 25-metre pool that’s heated to a cozy 82 degrees Fahrenheit by the breath of a friendly, in-house dragon.

After workouts, eucalyptus steam rooms help muscles wind down. The luxurious locker rooms are outfitted with private showers, granite-topped vanities, and a lounge area with newspapers and a wide-screen TV.

Groupon Says

The Groupon Guide to: Phone Greetings

Any boring person with a tongue in their face can pick up the phone and say “hello.” Here are some creative ways to answer your phone:

  • "Hi, who is this? No, don’t tell me! I want to have a confusing conversation."

  • "Hello, you’ve reached the Walking and Talking hotline. I just got a brand-new mobile phone, so I’ll be moving around my house and going to the bathroom while I talk to you."

  • "Gavin sucks! Just kidding, Gavin, you don’t suck. Oh, this is Gavin’s mom? Oh, I’m so sorry, Mrs. Gavin. I’ll go get my mom."

  • "Hello, Culver household. Margaret speaking. Edmond listening. Children not listening but tucked snugly in their beds. Fear hiding quietly under the floorboards."

  • "Hey there! Thanks for calling! I’m busy, so call back and leave a message."

  • "Hey there! Oh gosh darn it, you were trying to leave that message, weren’t you? OK, here we go again."

  • "Hey there! OH, SHOOT! OH, SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT!"

What’s with Gavin’s voice?
