Using digital tattooing techniques, a trained aesthetician with 20 years an an artist and 10 years as a permanent-makeup technician implants inks below the skin with a single-use, disposable needle cartridge. A topical numbing cream helps assuage most discomfort. Permanent eyeliner won't smudge and can last up to five years, depending on clients' skin care regimes.

Moi Day Spa

As a third-generation natural healer, Moi Day Spa owner Sheila Ko has always been immersed in holistic health and beauty methodologies. Ko is a massage therapist and reiki practitioner, and she performs treatments ranging from post-surgical lymphatic massage to soothing energy-work sessions. She is a proponent of the natural CR500 weight-loss program—which combines stimulant-free oral drops, food guidelines, and nutritional supplements—having personally tried the program and lost more than 17 pounds in 30 days.

But Ko goes beyond sharing her Old World wisdom and knowledge of alternative-medicine techniques. An avid entrepreneur, Ko also seeks out the latest technologies and products to help people look and feel their best. As a licensed aesthetician and medically trained permanent-makeup artist with more than 10 years of experience, she carefully blends pigments according to her client's skin tone and uses digital tattooing techniques to create eyebrows and lips that, like a fruit-bowl painting made of orange juice, closely approximate the real thing. During facials, Ko uses an advanced ultrasound device to exfoliation skin and the ECHO2Plus oxygen-infusion system to nourish cells. She is also certified in Endermologie Lipomassage cellulite-reduction technology. Her varied and extensive experience earned the day spa a 2012 Talk of the Town award for excellence in customer satisfaction.
