I color my hair at home. If I come in to get it highlighted. should I color it first and how much time between coloring and then coming in to get the highlights? Will you be able to tell me what color highlightsI would need?

I cannot make suggestions for color that was done with any type of color other than in salon professional color. In a in salon situation we would always do a root retouch prior to or at the same visit as a highlight service if the guest needed her roots done also.during a consult, we would be able to guide you toward what color highlight would be appropriate for your features. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the typing error. Correction below... I cannot make suggestions for color that was done with any type of color other than in salon professional color. In a salon situation we would always do a root retouch prior to or at the same visit as a highlight service if the guest also needed her roots done ( which sounds like your situation.) During a consultation, we would be able to guide you toward the color highlight that would be appropriate for your features. Hope this helps.

how long do highlights last? Will they be lost if I color over them at home a couple months later?

DEBBIE D. asked 3 months, 12 days, 14 hours, and 34 minutes ago - 1 answer

Montage S.

Highlights do not fade, but will grow out. The root area will come in as they do with a regular color service. Timing is different for each guest as everyone's hair grows at different rates. Most guests go 6-8 weeks in between color/highlight services. If you color over them with any color darker than the highlight color they will be lost.

In September, I had my dark brown hair highlighted w/ carmel, so the top needs to be redone. Is this what is meant by partial highlights?

TERESA M. asked 3 months, 14 days, 18 hours, and 7 minutes ago - 1 answer

Montage S.

Partial highlight is going to include the "t-bar" section of your head. This includes the top and two sides. Is is what people see when they look at you with your hair down. The full highlight includes all of these sections along with the underneath section of the head. Full highlights are suggested for anyone who wears their hair up and for people with layered haircuts. Hope this helps!
