If we purchase the family package, do all of us have to be first time skiers? two of the 3 kids have skied once before and my husband and I have skied once in the last 15 years.

Yes, all family members must be first time skiers or boarders. This package is designed for first timers and would not be useful for anyone beyond that skill level.

I read that it is only for the 'learning zone' w/free equipment rental, lesson and then what if you want to go to the red and green hills after?

A separate lift ticket would have to be purchased to access those areas of the Mountain after your Discover lesson. A good option would be to do the lesson in the morning and purchase a half day lift pass for the afternoon.

Is this exclusively for first-time skiers? I have kids aged 7, 8 and 10 that have skied twice before, but not since 2 years ago.
