Civic-minded brunchophiles can get their fix and support Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital on Sunday, November 18, with a walking tour of the brand-new Center for Neonatal Transitional Care and dining at the newly rebuilt Mt. Washington Tavern. Attendees meet at the entrance to the hospital at 9 a.m., tour the new facility, then stroll tavern-wise when the tour ends around 10 a.m. Shuttles will run from the tavern back to the hospital from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Mt. Washington Tavern suffered a two-alarm fire on Halloween night in 2011, but thanks in part to their collaboration with the hospital, the owners were able to resurrect the 33-year-old restaurant. With the Brick Project, interested citizens can purchase a custom brick to be installed at the entrance of the tavern and see their money funneled back to children in medical need. Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital's Center for Neonatal Transitional Care creates a family-centered environment that helps premature and low birth-weight infants achieve medical stability while under the care of board certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners.
