Namaste Aveda Pure Design Salon

In 1993, after 25 years spent working in the haircare and design industry, Rick Van De Riet decided to open his own salon. He and his partner, Tommy Pernell, run Namaste Aveda Pure Design Salon with a desire to evoke each customer's best aesthetic attributes and use environmentally friendly products. Their commitment to keeping stylists up-to-date on new techniques and educating aspiring stylists through a six-month Aveda training program has earned them various accolades, such as being named one of Salon Today's top 200 establishments for Salon Growth and Training.

Aestheticians, almost all from Aveda training programs, care for skin and follicles with a mélange of salon and spa services that utilize Elemental Nature and Aveda products. Stylists refurbish hair with natural curling and coloring treatments, many of which take place in reclaimed styling chairs, shampooing sinks, and extra-large platform shoes dating back to the 1970s. They also conduct facials and massages with steam towels and pure flower essences, sometimes atop a heated bed. Haircare, makeup, and skincare products huddle on the salon's wooden shelves in eco-friendly packaging to protect ingredients derived from the world's finest and least selfish plants.
