i suspect there was heavy sarcasm laden throughout the description… just maybe…
I’m pretty sure there are no restaurants that serve severed ears either, and that there’s no “Grandma Clementine’s Bed and Breakfast and Lecture About What You’re Doing With Your Life” B&B. They tend to joke about things in these write ups, you can’t take them too seriously.
Besides, we all know Mrs. Doubtfire was real!

I wonder if this coupon can be used at their sister restaurant Cafe Bonaparte?
Order the mussels with caution. When I told the server about too much sand in my mussels, he had the nerve to say, they are SUPPOSED to have sand in them!!!!

You may buy up to two of these Groupon’s, but you must use them on separate visits to Napoleon. If two people go and sit together, only one Groupon may be used for that party.

It is a fine bit of irony that this is today’s groupon, because I mistook my Cafe Bonaparte groupon for Cafe Napoleon and went there for brunch on Sunday. But I will not buy this because after a few visits there, I don’t want to go back. While the food is good, the brunch service is consistently abysmal. I have waited forever to get coffee, order, and pay my bill. I can chalk that up to a European-style of service that is not trying to rush me out the door. But when my my plate arrives with that matted look of having sat under warming lights for 10-15 minutes, that’s taking it too far. This has happened to me on every visit. And this time around our coffee was warm, and the bread basket we ordered as a snack while waiting came with our meal.
Bottom line for me is that it is not worth a return visit, even with the discount.
While the service is always slow at Napoleon, their brunch service is the worst. For dinner, the steak frites, the goat cheese salad, and the escargot are worth the wait.
I don’t see an expiration date for this groupon. Did I miss it?

I don’t know who writes the descriptions of the offers, but whoever thinks that “Just because Napoleon was a fictional legend, like Robin Hood or Mrs. Doubtfire, that doesn’t mean he’s not worth celebrating.” is really lacking in the area of historical fact.
