The National Council for Certified Personal Trainers CPT credential is nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) which is the gold standard in the health and fitness industry. The CPT credential prepares participants to become professional trainers within the commercial, community, corporate and residential fitness facilities. Its curriculum centers on an in-home study course, during which students broaden their horizons with online materials including instructional textbooks, videos, and holographic spitballs. They cover key personal training skills such as continuously evaluating clients, understanding basic nutrition and properly operating fitness equipment. The NCCPT curriculum helps prepare people to become personal trainers. To earn the title of a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), a student must pass the Certified Personal Trainer Exam (CPTE) at a PSI Testing Center. There is an additional proctoring fee of $79 paid directly to PSI to take the CPTE. A valid CPR is also required to take the exam.
