Questions and Answers
i want to buy a handful and go with a group of friends, can i do that?
is says “Limited quantity available” are only 50 groupons available?

Good morning all!
You are allowed to buy as many for yourself and others for today’s groupon, so you are able to take advantage of all 4 classes at this price if you’d like and you can technically buy an unlimited quantity for others as well.
The minimum number of people we need to buy today’s deal to get the offer is 50, there are more than 50 available!
Cheers to you both!

I’m confused if we can only go on a few specified dates, or can we use the groupon for any class up until the expiration?

Hi Jordan,
These are the dates scheduled for the classes currently, there will be more dates added on, you have 6 months to use these Groupons!
After I order the Groupon, how do I register for the class I want to attend?

Hi John,
Tomorrow you will receive your groupons via email with the email address to send an email to along with your unique groupon numbers, class titles and dates. You can not send an email without your unique groupon number!
Enjoy!

Awesome. Thanks!
is there anyway to find the available dates? Am I missing it somewhere? Thanks!
I just ordered 4 Groupons and have not received any confirmation via email… when am I going to be notified of my purchase so that I can reserve my spot at the classes?

Hi Amanda,
Indeed, you are registered for the Groupon. Do me a favor though, call us at 1-877-788-7858 when you get a moment, and ask for me!

Hi,
I was trying to buy 4 Groupon, I think I ended up 5 instead. How can I check this out and correct it if it’s a mistake?

Hi guys,
Dates available are on the right side of the feature and the expiration has just been extended to 1 year! Dates are being added and please check their website accordingly!
Best,
Lina
Hi, i just bought 4 coupons, can i use them all at different times?
Thanks!
for the italian wine class, will the pasta be served to the class?
Are you going to stop selling before the 13 hours is up? Are you capping this Groupon at a particular limit or will you keep selling all day?

Simone, Please contact support@groupon.com to finalize!
Stacey, You can absolutely use them at different times!
Nancy, Pasta will be served, but will be a tasting and not a full meal.
Jennifer, The current cap has been extended to 2500, close to that point we will see about getting it raised, but no promises.
We didn’t realize these classes would be going bananas or should I say GRAPES!!!!
Cheers,
Lina

Thanks for being patient!!!

i brought 2 does that mean i cant take the lessons?

At the risk of annoying the 2500+ people that purchased this… …I hesitated with purchasing until I knew more about NY Vitners other offerings. I discovered that a lot of the tastings and offerings in the past have been (and appear to be in the future)… …free. As in, zero dollars and zero cents. I’m a bit perplexed. For instance, back in April, from their website:
“Join us for a Saturday afternoon tasting of six different table wines while Chef Chris shows us how to make several different pastas and then demonstrates how to make some of our favorite pasta dishes. This is sure to be a very interactive event with a 25% discount all on wines tasted throughout the day.”
The cost…free. (?)
Also, Groupon points to yelp, where I found this segment of a review:
“The whole time I was thinking to myself, “How is this FREE?!?!” – Renee C.
Also, this review:
“EAT. DRINK. FREE. This place was… …went to a Saturday 6hour demo with unlimited FREE WINE.” – Jeff C
Call me skeptic/cynical but…what gives?

Also, they have a Sake and Cheese class that normally runs for $25. Granted, it’s an hour long…and I’m sure a 2 hour class is better (or something?)…BUT, I hope they didn’t create a class just for Groupon peeps & inflate the price value (to give what appears to be a big discount).
Full disclosure: huge fan of groupon, always sending deals to friends… …but, just again, call me skeptical/cynical.

The reviews for this event going back a full year all the way until June says this event is free. How come suddenly they’re charging $45 ($20 with Groupon)? What’s the difference?
RR, thanks for pointing this out. they also have a free 3 hour tasting with food on 8/15 posted to their site; I am beginning to feel a bit taken by this offer and wish I had done your research before purchasing!

Hi guys,
The free tasting is not an event but a just an offering at NY Vintners for people to taste as many wine shops do.
Sometimes there are sponsors that hold tastings but they are not the same as what will be offered.
The classes that were free were solely promotional and the classes NY Vintners are putting on are $45 in value. NY Vintners has had classes at multiple price points.
Groupon aims to highlight the best things in the city and it is not our or NY Vintner’s intention to “dupe” anyone. We assure you that there will be no classes like the ones offered today for free.
If you are in any way uncomfortable about this, please contact support@groupon.com and we can void your order.
Thanks to all,
Lina

I bought 2 but my friend just tried to buy 2 more and it’s sold out. Is this true? Are you going to add anymore??
Can this event be offered again? Didn’t even have a chance to purchase any : (

Chris,
Unfortunately these are sold out, NYC loves their wine!
Andrew,
What a clever idea about the raisins! I always thought they should sell sliced bread with butter already on the loaf, so that all you had to do was put it in the toaster!
Nataly,
We always hope to offer features again when we have a hit, so maybe in a few months!
Cheers to you all and enjoy your day!

Andrew,
You’re absolutely right, I apologize. As far as making new wine with raisins, I am not sure. There wouldn’t be enough juice available to extract from raisins, if you could find enough raisins then perhaps that could be a new type of wine. It would probably be quite expensive and may be the “Cristal” of wines. Cristal as wikipedia states http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristal_(wine) is a champagne (from France). Your idea could be the domestic and non French wine perhaps name it Raisinal?
If you end up going into production perhaps we could feature it on Groupon?
Good luck in all your endeavors!

Hi,
I just received my groupon via email. Who do i email to reserve my spot.
Thanks!
It doesn’t look like the newyorkvintners.com site is working. Time changed from 8:00am to 9:30am, yet it’s still showing the notice that sign-up will begin shortly. Can someone from Groupon or New York Vintners confirm when exactly sign-up will take place?
Thanks
Hey Guys, I didnt have a chance to check my email yesterday and missed out on this deal. but i recently met a girl who’d be interested in checking this out with me! lol.. so i mean if anyone purchased 2 of these groupons and are not interested in keeping them.. i’d be up for buying them off you. email at sunnyb32@gmail.com lol thanks!!

I found something odd.. two almost identical reviews, it makes me a little weary:

reviews by Olga T.and Vivien L.
Olga 1/25 "I went there for my first wine tasting yesterday. My friend and I did the pizza and italian wine class that we bought through Groupon. The class was really really awesome! Such a steal for $20. They let us taste 6 wines and refills on any others that you preferred. Gerard was really knowledgeable about his wines and was patient in explaining them all to us.
The pizza portion was my fave. Mostly cause I love pizza. But i got to learn how to make fresh pizza from scratch and the little tips and secrets that come with it. The chef was really funny and make the class even more fun! Overall I had a great time and plan to come back shortly to take another class!! you should check it out too!!!!"

The pasta portion was my fave. Mostly cause I love pasta. But i got to learn how to make fresh pasta and the little tips and secrets that come with it. And even thoguh it was a small snack, it was DELICIOUS!
In addition, we got 15% off a mixed case of wine with free delivery! They were so kind about educating us on the wines and letting us taste the different ones. I WILL be back"

When will this deal be available again???
I tried to register for a wine tasting, but it says that I have already signed up for a previous one. There is a button that says “drop” but nothing happens when I press it. I have not used this groupon yet and would like to sign up for a class, so please let me know how I can do so. Thanks!
Please bring this deal back, at least as a side deal.

Can I buy a second one for someone else as a gift?
