Questions and Answers

Good Morning Jessica,
This is Sarah with Groupon. Today’s Groupon expires on December 31st, 2009 – so you’ll have a little more than two months to get over to the Newseum.
Best,
Sarah
How long does it take for me to receive the email?

Hi Karla,
If you buy this Groupon today, you will receive the certificate in your inbox tomorrow morning. Just in time for this weekend if you’d like to go soon!
Best,
Sarah
Actually, I wanted to go today. Is it possible to use the coupon today?

Hi Karla,
Unfortunately, we don’t distribute the Groupon’s until after the deal has closed, which will happen at 11:59 PM tonight. Sorry.
-Sarah
Great, thanks Sarah!
Hello,
Is the coupon valid at any time (e.g., weekends/peak hours)?
Thanks!

Hi Jessica,
Yes, this Groupon is valid at anytime you’d like to visit the Newseum including weekends.
Best,
Sarah
Do you get a confirmation that you purchased the Groupon after you enter all your info and hit purchase? I’m not sure if my transaction when through.
Nevermind, just got it! :)

Probably going to get this regardless for my visit to LA but… the outdoor patio is mentioned three times in the post (and was one of two photographs). SO, I’m assuming this is the big draw. That being said, can one use this Groupon for the patio? I went to the website and it appears that is only available for private events. Also, the warmer months? Its always warm in LA. :) Will it be open in December?
Hello, can I buy three of these and give them to three separate people? Will the e-mail have the groupons separated? Or should I buy one at a time? Thanks!

Hi Amy,
Each Groupon will be in the form of a separate certificate, so if you put three in your shopping cart, you will end up with three unique PDF’s to print out and bring to the museum. You can share them with friends and all go together, or you could give them as a gift to someone who ends up going without you.
Best,
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
This is the first time I am buying a Groupon :)
I didn’t know I “only” had 8 hours to purchase once I clicked the link, so I decided to buy my ticket now before I forget. However I think other friends may be interested in the offer, too. I read that I can also modify the number of tickets purchased afterwards. How can I do that if my friends decide to go with me?
Or should I just send the link to my friends (thery don’t know of Groupon) and tell them to buy directly?
Advice would be great!
Juan C

Hello Juan,
Welcome to Groupon! I’d recommend sending your friends one of our share links and having them purchase their own Groupon before the end of the day today. For each friend that buys their first Groupon from your link, you get $10 in Groupon credit! Just go to the top right corner of the page and click “Refer Friends, Get $10” and then copy and paste the share link in an e-mail to your friends about the deal.
If you don’t trust that they’ll get to it today, you could go back and change your order and increase the number of Groupon’s you are purchasing. You just go back to where the “Buy” button was and say “Change Purchase” and update the number.
You must do all of these things today though. This offer will expire at the end of the day and there is no way to change your order or refer your friends tomorrow.
Best,
Sarah
Were the groupons for the Newseum supposed to be delivered at midnight last night? I do not see anything in my mail…
Thanks.
Wondering when we will receive the groupons for this purchase? Thanks
I know things must be swamped with the number of groupons that were purchased for this deal, but can we get a time estimate for when we should get them? I really wanted to use mine this weekend. Thanks
I too need to use the coupons I bought tomorrow. When can we expect to receive these? I was under the impression they are emailed the morning following the purchase. thanks!

Hi Folks,
Thank you to everyone for making the Newseum deal such a tremendous success yesterday!
The Newseum Groupon’s are on their way. Delivery got off to a slow start this morning, but some should have been delivered already and the rest will be in your inbox within 1 hour. If you haven’t gotten your e-mail yet and you want to check to see if the Groupon is ready for printing, you can go right to the upper right corner of this page and click on “My Stuff” and then select “My Groupons” and look for it under “My Available Groupons.”
We are sorry for the delay and hope you enjoy your trip to the Newseum!
Best,
Sarah
Hi Sarah, I bought 3 Newseum groupons as gifts for friends. All three print-outs have my name on them. Will this be a problem for them to exchange for a ticket? Thanks!

Hi Amy,
You will have no problem giving the Groupon’s as gifts. They are transferable.
Best,
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
I thought I purchased two of these passes, but only one appears, and the PDF only admits one. I believe my credit card was charged $20. Can you check on this for me?
I was planning on going to the Newseum this weekend, but obviously didn’t make it because of the snow and closings. Unfortunately, I’m now leaving for the holidays and won’t be back in time to take advantage of the groupon before it expires. Is there anyway it can be extended for another weekend because of the snow??? That would be amazing since I really want to go, but am now unable to. If not, is there anyway i can get a refund?

Hello Everybody,
Just a reminder to you all that after today, all Newseum Groupons will be expired. The company will not be able to accept any Groupons after today’s date. If you have any questions, feel free to send them to us at support@groupon.com.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

The printed out tickets for the Newseum say they expire 1 Jan 2010.
Does this really mean they expire 31 Dec?
If so, Groupon needs to do a better job of giving accurate information. We had plans to go tomorrow, since the printed out coupon say tomorrow is when they expire..

Hi Jessica E. and other Groupon customers!
Newseum will be closed January 1st for the holiday, making today the last possible date to use the Groupon. I apologize if that was not more clear in my earlier message.

I have purchased and enjoyed previous groupons.
The newseum groupon was not available for printout immediately (as others were). I went overseas and was planning to use mine (without knowing the expiration date was only two months later) during the cold winter days. I received the e-mail about its expiration on the date it expired. I was totally surprised. I would like to get my money back since I never got a chance to print or use mine (due to the very short available period). If the groupon was going to be reedemable for only two months it should have been specified in the offer, Thanks
Alexandra

Hi Alexandra,
Sorry you weren’t able to take advantage of the deal! We did specify on the deal page that this offer would not be available for longer than 2 months in the Fine Print section. The date was also posted on the actual print-out and on your “My Groupons” page. If there were any technical issues with printing we would be more than happy to look at those for you. Just send along your issue to support@groupon.com so that we may investigate further.
Thanks!
