Nikko Sushi & Hibachi

Often, the name of a sushi roll tips diners off about what to expect upon their first bite. Nikko Sushi & Hibachi's Cali Cream maki, for example, is a classic california roll drizzled with Japanese cream sauce, and the Captain Crunch roll crackles with fried shrimp and crispy flakes. Some of the restaurant's 19 specialty rolls, however, are named for the feelings that they evoke: the deep-fried Woo Hoo—octopus, jalapeño, and spicy sauce—elicits gleeful exclamations, whereas the tuna-topped Kiss Me roll triggers such passion it's had to reject hundreds of marriage proposals.

In addition to maki, the menu shines the spotlight on delicate slices of nigiri and other Japanese entrees, such as tempura udon soup and combination bento boxes. Hibachi meals highlight grilled meats, from chicken teriyaki to shrimp, salmon, and strip steak.
